Rating Frequently Asked Questions

How do the grades work?

Users rate games and publishers based upon their experience. The ratings are on a 1-10 scale with 1 being the worst and 10 being the best and the system calculates a letter grade for each category and a "final grade". You may choose to view a report card based upon the last 30 days, last 90 days, or all time. For those interested, the grading scale used is:

  • 8.0-10.0 = A
  • 7.0-7.9 = B
  • 6.0-6.9 = C
  • 5.0-5.9 = D
  • < 5.0 = F

What do I need to do to rate a game?

If you haven't registered yet, you'll need a /gg FTW! account. After that, just click the "Rate" button and submit your ratings.

Game X went downhill fast. How often can I rate a game?

You may rate a single game every 15 days, but there is no limit to the number of different games you can rate. If you're currently playing 4 different games you may rate all of them but you can't rate the first one again for 15 days.

What are the colored bars by game/publisher names and under the final grade?

The bars represent a "confidence rating". The more ratings a game has, the higher the confidence rating will be. If you see a bright bar you know a large number of people have rated the game and the ratings are probably more accurate.

Do the companies pay for better ratings?

Absolutely not. We believe the ratings are more useful to the gaming community if they are provided by the community and /gg FTW! will not accept payment or favors for a higher rating. What you see is how gamers like you view the games and publishers.

Do you share this information with the game companies?

/gg FTW! shares only aggregate, anonymous data with game companies regarding their game and company ratings. In accordance with our Privacy Policy, no personally identifiable data is shared.
