Today I'm pleased to announce some major changes to our MMORPG news section. The changes are retroactive to all news articles posted (currently 40 pages of it) and, with few exceptions, should make our news articles more useful for members and visitors.
With every addition to ggFTW we try to keep our members' and visitors' best interests in mind. One aspect of the site that we recently identified for improvement was the MMORPG News section. We get between 5-10 updates every weekday and over the last few months have made some changes to allow screenshots, images, and videos in our game news. Taking a step back, we saw that we could do even better.
We've ripped out the generic site right column and added game-specific columns highlighting the game's rating, recent ggFTW video reviews, other news for that game, and any open key distribution events for that game. We've also added the ability to rate a game or mark that you've played it directly from the news article; however, you have to be logged in to rate or mark games as played.
We hope these changes will make our news articles more useful for everyone. You won't get the full experience if you just read the forum post version of the news; head over to the ggFTW MMORPG News section to check out the new changes.
You can see an example of most of the new features in this article: Forsaken World's Dev Diary 6.
