Asian companies spinning up North American subsidiaries or partnering with NA publishers is relatively common. The inverse, however, is not something we see much in the news. CCP Games is expanding its space exploration MMO, EVE Online, to Japan. CCP has partnered with Nexon to create a fully localized game client and is planning a Fall 2011 release.
In a statement, CCP stated they recognize the importance of the Japanese MMORPG market and particularly the EVE Online community.
Japanese players will call the Tranquility server home. This server currently hosts localized versions in German and Russian in addition to English.
