As you may already know, the League of Legends development team includes Steve “Guinsoo” Feak, the original creator of DotA Allstars, and Steve “Pendragon” Mescon who started DotA-Allstars.com, and has worked closely with the DotA community for the past five years.
Riot is a company of gamers who have fallen in love with DotA and want to take the experience to the next level. We believe that League of Legends is helping to pioneer a new genre of games that we’re calling MOBA or “Multiplayer Online Battle Arena” that we’re excited to help bring to a global audience.

First time I tried it, It was horrible. Had no Idea what I was doing, Most everyone I know pretty much is anti-LoL, etc. etc. But The second time around It wasn't nearly as bad once someone showed me the ropes. However I emphasis this part of the game: To get the most out of this game you need to know what the heck you're doing or else you're just going to be pulling your hair out and dying a lot. If someone you know plays it you can have them teach you the controls. Soloing a custom match is fairly easy too, but You better have patience. It can be tedious at times. The Community is...kind of hit or miss. You get some decent players most of the time but you'll sometimes get stuck with really obnoxious players if luck isn't on your side or players that really come off as immature. But I suppose every gaming community is like that at times though huh? Game updates are frequent too, and I like the fact you can "try out" characters for a week or so. Which honestly is nice, it lets you test run certain characters. You can enjoy pretty much the entire game without spending money too, which is nice (though sometimes it doesn't help to have a bit of points on hand) and you get two options to pay for characters (one being In-game currency and the other is Riot points) TL;DR: Fun game despite the Community being a bit of a mixed bag. It by far isn't "perfect" but if you've got a group of friends who aren't afraid of pvping with other players, It certainly is fun. Just, be sure to learn what's what ahead of time. It'll save you a whole lot of trouble. |

Tried it, and I didnt like it at all. I hear unless you play with a group that you know, it sucks. Either way, it seems too... antisocial and hostile |

Really extremely fun, but only really is if you know what you're doing. You have to look up guides and/or have friends who know what they're doing. Waaaaay more fun playing with friends than alone~ |

Fun for people who like DotA, and I highly recommend giving it a try, even with the constant influx of "OP" champions and "nerf hammers." You learn to get around those as part of the challenge. However, don't play if you aren't going in with 1 to 4 people that you will ALWAYS play with. Some solo games here and there are alright, but the pubs will more than likely disappoint you with their idiocy and make you rage-quit. |

Be ready for 1 an hour 30 matches at high levels. Warning, you can be reported for being a noob. Wish the game had more maps. |
