About Guild Wars

Guild Wars takes the best elements of today's massively multiplayer online games and combines them with a new mission-based design that eliminates some of the more tedious aspects of those games. You can meet new friends in towns or outposts, form a party, and then go tackle a quest together. Your party always has its own unique copy of the quest map, so camping, kill-stealing, and long lines to complete quests are all things of the past. Within a Guild Wars quest you have unprecedented freedom and power to manipulate the world around you; with the dynamic quest system, your accomplishments have a unique influence on your future.

This was actually my first online game I ever played. I would say if you are unsure to buy it that it is definitely worth trying out because the storyline is so in depth and the classes have so many skills alone is absolutely outstanding. The highest level you can get is 20 and you won't have to worry about looking like someone else. There are so many profession mixes (game by itself has six characters and you can pick and also change whenever you want which ones you want to match) and they have a LOT of armor and you can also dye that armor not just one solid color but if I remember you can mix 4 dyes together to get almost any color imaginable. You can also make a PvP character and jump right in so you don't even have to work on one character all the way to 20 to enter. They hold really awesome events that gives out prizes such as masks and pets and the game is based around Guilds (Guild Wars lol) and it's very easy to find a guild you love since people are always willing to help and be positive. There also is no cash shop to an extent so there is no super overpowered weapon and every class has an advantage over every other class if you plan it right so PvP isn't just full of one certain class. I highly suggest this game to anyone and be warned that you can get very addicted to this game pretty quick since there are so many combination of characters and armor so you'll never be bored.

Guild wars is just a sick game, period.
The game is constantly updated to fix bugs and imbalances and there ALWAYS something to do (i mean it, ALWAYS). Guild wars is unique in a sense that level does not matter (no seriously, max level is 20, which is easily attainable), which is refreshing since most mmorpgs nowadays require you to have a high level to be any good.
Guild wars also allows you to create a char solely for PvP, meaning that he starts at max level, and you can wear any gear to which you have unlocked (on the whole account) and you can use any skills you have unlocked on your account.
Overall, game is great and fun. Only drawback is that Guild wars has 4 campaigns to buy, each of which has its own skills and characters. If you dont have one campaign, you can't buy the skills offered in that part of the game, and therefore if you want to have no disadvantages, you gotta buy all 4 games (but the game is old, so you can probably get it cheap nowadays).
