About Battlefield Heroes

Battlefield Heroes is an all-new Play 4 Free cartoon-style shooter that will bring classic Battlefield gameplay to an all new mass audience. Available this summer, Battlefield Heroes is EA’s first title that is offered completely for free, and features a built-in matchmaking system to ensure that players of equal skill are paired together for fair play. Developed by DICE, the game generates revenue through advertising and micro-transactions.

I've never played ET, is it good?
ON-Topic: Most players have weathered the storm somewhat, and this still remains a reasonably fun game to play. Be warned though, you will have to invest a little to be competitive at later levels (if you care about that). The good news is, the core guns are only $1 for permanent use, and you can really get by with just one pay weapon per character. Added to this that you can already pay by sms in most countries you'll be able to just spend $2 in cash points and play with the best of them. BFH went from a very free-player orientated game to a cash-point one, but at least it's a very cheap cash point game.

They just released a potentially game crippling update. It is now impossible to consistently afford weapons ingame.

Definitely a game to check out. It's made by dice so you have good quality gameplay. The main issues as of now (Nov. 2009) are slight imbalance in classes, lack of gamemodes and maps, and lack of variety in some weapons (more is better). A few other bugs and glitches are present, but it's a great game considering it's free.
