Default Server and version problem?

I get to the channel selection screen..select a server and try to connect and I get the error *Server and version are not matching. - (1010)

Ive patched about 10 times already and still no good.

I can't even get into the game.

"You can't access the server. Please try again in a moment."

I've rebooted and repatched, like, 5 times now? Meh.

Turns out Norton was blocking "GameMon.des" (GameGuard file). Both the antivirus and firewall have to be disabled every time I play.

GameGuard fail?

Has nothing to do with GameGuard. It's Norton (your antivirus).

Try adding everything related to Trickster to Norton's list of exceptions. If it still doesn't work; I'd suggest you use a different antivirus program, such as avast.

Yeah, I know. What I meant was, the blocked file is a GameGuard file. If the GameGuard folder didn't exist in the first place, that particular file wouldn't be blocked.

I already added the entire Trickster folder to every exclusion list I could find before I disabled Norton altogether. In all honesty, it's hard to tell if I even found the right list because nothing is displayed in English.

And since this computer isn't mine, I don't have the authority to install a different antivirus program. Temporarily disabling Norton does work, so I guess I'll ask the person who owns this computer for a better solution.

A clean (removing all related files) reinstall of the game should usually fix it. In some cases you may have to redownload the game entirely.

I don't know of any other solutions.

I'm pretty sure the file would still be blocked if the folder didn't exist.

Anyway. It's the correct list, as far as I can tell (I could be wrong since I can't read the language). I had this problem with another antivirus program I used to use, but try as I might, I never found a solution. Some antiviruses just flat out don't like GameMon, even after adding an exception.

I switched to avast over two years ago and not once have I had any sort of issue with it.

The guy who owns this computer fixed it for me. I have no idea what he did, but I'm guessing it's because Norton isn't my kind of thing to begin with.

I cant seem to get my Version (1.115.0) updated.. i tried re-download and 'Check file ' D:

lol, me too, here are some things that you can try:
System Restore
Restart Your Computer
Reinstall
Go to the other website, and press CTRL+F5.
Edit: I think if you files from your internet browser are cached, it can take up to 72 hours to receive the update or something (GM told me something like this).
