The most surprising thing happened to me today. At about 1:25pm I was mining Ivory minding my own business and this Level 7 Cat walks up to me while I'm mining. The Cat slaps a monster while the Sheep supposedly power levelling this player does a spell and the aoe hits me as well.

My question is... Is there a known glitch or bug where the spell hits you as well if you are standing next to the monster when it's finished casting?

I was instantly killed with 5k hp and the monster taken out was a Quiem.

Map: Wharf Field 1 Haunted Town.

Not sure on the name of the skill but I'm sure it's an aoe. I just play my bunny. But yea took me by surprise. If it hasn't happened to anyone else then it was probably just a fluke.

Are you sure the cat didn't hit a Requi which then blew up next to both of you? Requi's self destruct when charm types don't finish them off.

Mmm never afk dig in fields where monsters can blow up. Some people think it is funny to make monsters blow up on you. The same goes with banish. Shield break and beserk are bad choices too.
So basically don't try these fields:
Wharf 1 and 3
Rose 2-4
NW forest.
Skull trials (unless you are watching)
+a few others.

Depends on how much damage you got that killed you. If its way too high, it must be the Requi's Suicide.

Also wharf 4 is bad due to faint. I don't think it would be a requiem if it hit you for 7k only.

While Requi does explode, Quiem also explode as well. Except that, Quiem self explode is only triggered by an attack from Charm Type, so that Quiem did self explode before the AoE hit it. So, in your case, that was just bad luck. Next time, tell the Charm type not to hit Quiem around you.

the mobs will usually say something like !@#$%^& when they are about to explode

Ah I see. I never knew Requi's had that ability and in turn triggers Quiem.

Thanks for clearing that up. The Cat was a charm type so that does make more sense. +Repping ^^

No, Requi does not triggers Quiem's self explode. Its the Charm attack against Quiem that triggers the self explode. Just to clarify things.

during the time when I was still around I only knew about Requis being triggered by charms, I never knew Quiems has that trigger too.

another mob that has self-destruct that I know of just FYI is Captain Norman, the Jellyfish in Karan's trials and Werepots summoned by chaos bosses

and as for the faint worries in Wharf 4, the Master Foes shouldn't inflict it if they are perfectly healthy(i.e. full health, uninjured by anyone)
