There's nothing wrong with Gameguard nor was there ever. You simply tailor your applications (virus scanners, spyware, etc) to ignore/bypass it. In nearly every instance where I have seen people having issues with Gameguard it has turned out they use macro/bot software or "other" applications.
I've been playing since Beta and was able to get game working with Gameguard on every OS with every combo of virus/spyware software around.
Cait mentioned somewhere that AVG picks it up as a virus - this has been the case ALWAYS, nothing new there, simply place gameguard as an exempted application and folder. Simple as that. In fact ALL virus scanners permit exemption lists so it might be a good idea to add in Gameguard there.
It's good to have gameguard back - will stop those who "claim" they were hacked and everything taken.
Security is security and it's a sad reflection on the small portion of our playing community that require this game to have this in place, ie. hackers/scammers/etc. Now all we need is for the developers to implement an actual banning system for hackers and scammers. Even with evidence nothing ever gets done, except a slap on the wrist.
We also need gameguard to fully block IP spoofing and then perm ban/block IP addresses of identified hackers/scammers.
