Surprise Spot/Treasure Hunt Guide



Getting Started
Go talk to Indiana John in Southeast Forest [Right map of Megalopolis] to get started with the quest. After you finished talking with him, You'll get [Treasure Map Use Guide] ,EXP:6139,TM Exp:5900.


Then, you can get started with the treasure hunt/Black market quests!

Note that you can only do Driller King Marky Quest [ Weird Map (Red) ] and the Reina Quest [Old Map (Brown/Gold)] once a day. However, you can do the Reina Quest [Worn Map (Silver/Grey)] as many times as you like.

Also note that you can only do the Old Map quest after you finished doing the Worn Map quest 50 times in one location. For example, you can only do the Old Map quest in Snow Hill daily after you finished the Worn Map Quest 50 times in Snow Hill. Which means you can't do the Old Map quest anywhere else unless you have finished the Worn Map Quest 50 times in that location.

Finding the Surprise Spot
First, when you get your complete map, Double-click on it to use it. There will be an icon below your MP. Click on it to show the treasure's location.

After you found the map the treasure is in, go there and there would be 5~6 level of indications for you.(Depends on Map size. According to Dragon.) Level 5~6 being the furthest from the treasure, and Level 1 being the closest from the treasure. FYI, the guild tab does not display the indications. Only the All tab of chatting displays it.

When you're at level 1, walk around the area and when this message appears: "You are pretty sure that there is something hidden in this area" drill on that spot and a "SURPRISE" message will appear on your screen. Keep drilling until you excavate the Poseidon Treasure.

The Poseidon Treasure may contain anything from 1000g, 5000g, 10000g coupons, Chaos Feathers which are quite rare to ingredients for compounding of potions/food in the Black market. Nikariums shards can be obtained from the Worn Treasure Chests which are very rare. Black Elixir Fragment can be found in Old Treasure Chests too.

There are two types of Worn Treasure Maps (Not sure of Old). Both have the same name. They give the same CF and other special items like Nikarium Fragments (Not sure about rates though). This is from using over 180 Tap Worn Maps in 1 day. Tap Worn Maps give CF 230, 245, 260, 275. Tech gives 200, 215.

Sells Equipment and Stats Ears and Tails (15 days period use time) and a weight bag with 7 days period of use time. The Ears and Tails are untradable and unrechargable.

Great Chef Sid
Compounds Food and Potions using the ingredients found in the Poseidon Treasure.

Trader Pav
Apparently, he compounds 5 old equipment for an equipment that has random stats and 1~4 compound slots. Note that since this is a compound, you may fail to get your weapon and get a compound waste in return.

Compounder Vin
She compounds 2 old equipments + Nikarium (Compounded by Great Chef Sid)
into one with random stats and 1~4 compound slots. Note that since this is a compound, you may fail to get your weapon and get a compound waste in return.

I'm exactly at Tap Gate and there is no Marky there, not where it's circled and not anywhere else in that map :/

Tap currently does not have the Reina or Marky NPC. Members have said that Ntreev removed it and it's probably not going to be put in until they notice it or once Tap gets revo-ed.

Just to be on the safe side, you could go and check Spicy Island.

i've checked. neither reina nor marky are at any tap maps. i've already remove them from wiki.

Here's a useful trick:

When you are doing the quests for the Worn maps, the npc requires you to finish with your current treasure map before beginning the next run. To get around this, just get rid of your current treasure map. You can do this by throwing the map out or giving it to someone else. That way, you can speed through the 50 runs required to begin the Old (gold) maps.

No, throwing them away and then picking them up again. Basically, you don't have to open the maps at all.

I did the worn map quest at Caballa Relics, you can get 1K coupons from the treasure there.

I had 5 of those that appear first in inventory and 16 of those that appear next to them, from those 5 i got 1 chaos feather and from 16 i didn't get any.

I had Detection Level 6, so I'm guessing it depends on map size.

Does anyone have the general rates of finding CF/Nikarium from the maps? Like 1 CF per 50 maps?
