A guide to understanding elemental melee
Hello everyone, this is InfernalGuy here
After seeing MANY questions regarding to "what is better, AP or elemental attr" both here, on forums, and ingame, I have decided to make a guide explaining how EXACTLY elemental attribute works in this game. I won't be using any elemental based skills, only pure melee. I hope this will explain some things to you
P.S. This is my VERY first guide, so don't be very hard on me, ok? I'm free to all kind of tips/suggestions though, so feel free to speak out

Infernalguy's guide to elemental
melee
There will be 3 parts in my guide:
1. Elemental melee against monsters with no DP and no resistance
2. Elemental melee against monsters with DP, but no resistance
3. Elemental melee against monsters with DP and resistance
1. Elemental melee against monsters with no DP and no resistance
Let's start at coral beach. Here we have a perfect monster for our tests torobbie.
As you can see in the picture, torobbie has no defence points and 100% damage tolerance, which means he will receive FULL damage without any reductions. The reason I underlined dark and fire is because I will use that kind of attribute for my tests.
At this picture you see me hitting a torrobie. As you can see, my AP is equal to damage dealt, that means our prediction about no damage reduce is right
Now we can see the most basic formula for our hit damage: hit damage = user AP. You should've already know that.
Next picture shows my critical damage
If you already know Trickster Online basics, you should be aware of critical hit formula: critical hit damage = user AP*1.5
Let's put the numbers in and check: 138*1.5=207; that's the exact amount we should get
From now on, things will get a little harder I will be using my fire attribute melon stick. Picture please
You see the damage number? It is far more bigger than my AP, how come? That is because of fire attribute I have. At first sight, there might be NO connection between my AP and damage dealt, but there is actual formula: hit damage with attribute = user AP+user AP*attribute.
It might sound stupid now, but let's put in the numbers (100% attribute is equal to 1): 138+138*1.1=289.8
That is the numbers we see in my screen shot.
Ok, let's move onto critical hits with attribute on. It isn't very hard
We just need to combine our critical hit formula with our hit damage with attribute formula: critical hit damage with attribute = (user AP+user AP*elemental attribute)*1.5;
To make it clear, let's put the numbers in formula: (138+138*1.1)*1.5=434.7; That is exact number as in the picture
Just to make it even more clearer, I will show how 2 different kinds of elemental attributes works.
At this ^ picture you can see that I have fire and dark attribute, my damage increases even more, although the formula stays the same: hit damage= user AP*elemental attribute; I shall put in the numbers: 138+138*1.1+138*1.35=476.1; roughly the same amount we see in the screen shot
The same applies to critical hits
Formula stays EXACTLY the same as before, so I will just move on to the numbers part: (138+138*1.1+138*1.35)*1.5=714.15;
This is the end of part 1. As you can see, elemental attribute seems to be WAY more effective than only AP and is a great way to increase your damage dealt, even with low amounts of base AP (like I have).
Basic formulas for elemental melee: AP+AP*elemental %;
Critical hit formula: (AP+AP*elemental %)*1.5;
OR
if you feel like you can skip the base AP part, you can just add +1 to your elemental attribute (for now; as we will see later, this can't be done with monsters that has elemental resist): AP*elemental%+1

2. Elemental melee against monsters with DP, but no resistance
Now that we know basics about elemental melee, let's move further to understanding how DP affects elemental melee damage. The monster I chose is Addax.
As you see, his resistances are 100%, but he has 42 DP. Let's start hitting stuff
You can see that I dealt lower damage than my AP is. That is because of Addax's DP. Formula for damaging monsters with DP is: damage against monsters with DP = user APmonster DP. My AP is 138, monster's DP is 42, 13848=96, that's what we see.
Now about critical hits:
It is a bit more complicated. At first, it might look that there are 2 possible formulas:
1. (User APmonster DP)*1.5
2. User AP*1.5monster DP
To know which one is correct, we must put in the numbers.
1. (13842)*1.5=96*1.5=144
2. 138*1.542=20745=165
As you see, only the 2nd formula is correct, formula Nr. 1 gives us wrong numbers.
Now as we know all formulas needed, let's move on to actual elemental melee.
We can calculate the correct formula for damage we deal, because we know all of the numbers. These kind of calculations requires general understanding about game mechanics and some math knowledge, if you lack any of these, the only thing I could advice is noddle your head and pretend you understand everything
Hit damage with attribute against monsters with DP: user APmonster DP+(user APmonster DP)*elemental %. Once again, to make it clear, I will put in the numbers:
13842+(13842)*1.1=96+105.6=201.6=number we see in the picture.
Now critical hit part
All the fun starts here, the formula starts to get ENORMOUS.
Critical hit damage with attribute against monsters with DP: (user AP*1.5)monster DP+(user AP*elemental %*1.5)monster DP.
I think if we put the numbers it will be simplier, so let's do that:
(138*1.5)42+(138*1.1*1.5)42=165+185.7=350.7 ; 4 damage difference isn't that big and it doesn't change anything in the long run, so just ignore it.
Now I shall do the same using 2 elements
Hit damage with attribute against monsters with DP: user APmonster DP + (user APmonster DP)*elemental % + (user APmonster DP)*elemental %
I will put the numbers now: 13842+(13842)*1.1+(13842)*1.35=96+105.6+129.6=331.2. You can see that this formula really fits the actual numbers in the screen shot; Now to the critical hit part
Critical hit damage with attribute against monsters with DP: (user AP*1.5)monster DP+(user AP*elemental %*1.5)monster DP+(user AP*elemental %*1.5)monster DP;
Numbers: (138*1.5)42+(138*1.1*1.5)42+(138*1.35*1.5)42=165+185.7+237.45=588.15 that's roughly the same as in picture
(about this ^. If anyone knows where from that actual damage reduction comes from, please let me (us) know and write a comment here )
This is the end of part 2. As we saw, things are getting even more complicated now, but that doesn't change the fact that elemental attribute is a great way to increase your damage.
Just remember, the more AP you have = the greater is the effect of elemental melee

Not going to lie, when I saw the guide and what it was about, I thought I was going to laugh. In reality, the opposite occurred. Though it is a simple topic, you are able to explain it clearly.

Good guide, very clear and easy to follow.
As for the damage loss, I think attribute damage counts as magic damage so that part need to be calculated with MD. Try that see if makes your numbers right other than that I'm not sure lol.

Addax MD is 47, DP is 42. Difference is 5. Actual damage reduction with 1 element crit is 4, with 2 elements crit 20. No matter how hard I try, I see no connection between these :/
