Ameh's Adventures on jTO [Graphics Intense]

Feel free to join me, but I doubt there's a reason for most people to try when they can stay on eTO x.x But Ameh is forever curious, and wants to explore TO as it is on the other side of the globe .-.


The Beginning
Registration was easy enough.




Unlike eTO, jTO doesn't ask you for things like desired password or security question when you sign up :x A random password is assigned to you through the sign-up email. I haven't bothered to change mine yet xD




Their installer is slightly smaller than ours, but other than that, not much difference in the download/install process. The patch was HUGE, or at least it seemed that way, cause I had to leave it to finish overnight. Here's the patch~ Pretty nice looking launcher too.




Got this weird ass error 2~3 times just as the patch progress bar almost reached the end...




Solution? I managed to locate the game folder (turns out to be C:\Games\Trickster) and started the launcher with the Splash.exe file instead, as opposed to launching it from the website. Finally managed to patch the game and got the splash screen to come up. So far, so good. They have a really upbeat theme song for the login music, instead of the instrumental one that we have o_O And then...

This. Those who're used to seeing a "Start" button pop up once the "loading..." text is gone will be panicking like I did. No start button. How the fack do I log on?




Well, it turns out that they don't use a start button at all rofl. Or at least I don't think so. The game has to start from the website >_>

The launcher, all patched and stuff.




Start game, and it takes you straight to the server/channel selection screen~ o.o No need to enter your user and pass like on eTO.

Three channels on Jewelia: Sand Island, Gold Island, Rainbow Island.
And three more on Fantasia: Melody Island, Aurora Island, Dream Island.

No Ruby or Pearl 8D!




At this point, I got another indecipherable error (Japanese errors don't show up for me e.e), but that was apparently down to the fact that I had some application running (lol sidebar.exe) which basically gave me the "Gamehack Detected" error. I disabled it and after that it works fine.

Before you get to character creation, the game asks whether you want to create a special password to protect your data.




This is NOT your account password. It has to be numbers only, and must contain 4~6 digits. You'll also be prompted for your email address again :x




Character creation~ Slightly different artwork used, but otherwise, it's all the same.

The noobie tutorial's pretty much the same. GM_Eni became "Eagle" LOL.

jTO Myhax~ I obviously don't intend to use any Myhax, so all this is not in my league >_>; Makes me semi-curious what that blue pet is though o_o Most items are indeed timed, and their points system is different from ours, so by no means should these items all worth around ~1k be seen as cheap .-.




MyShop Pets! They have level 180 Warren pets o_O




Lvl 110 head accessories ._. Much, much cuter than what we have. But the stats are inferior to our lvl 130 pots/pans/kettles/etc.




And rofl. This made me lol a bit. The weather clouds that we've been given as rewards for spending points on eTO are actual items you have to buy on jTO. Omnipotent Umbrella, Evil Horns and Ruby Shades are all noob gears @_@




Fashion. I was expecting them to have more fashion but it looks like eTO and jTO are on par, as far as fashion is concerned. I think there are one or two extra sets for first and second job chars, but I'm not too sure x.x




Lolboxes! No idea what they contain though D: The highest only go to lvl 150, so most likely nothing majorly hax.




Anyways, just wandering around, and there are some peculiarities that we don't have here >_> When you first want to sell something to an NPC, you have to enter that 4~6 digit password you first created o_o This looks like a potentially useful safeguard against hackers/malicious people who gain access to someone's account and tries to NPC all their equips :x




Going around and being nosey with people's info xD

A level 17x fox with hax TM:




A level 70 "Everyday Shield" with base 350 HP, and compable for MD, HP and HV(? sorry if it's not right, my kanji reading skills are a bit rusty x___x) With mid comps, you can get up to 2.2k HP on it. Pretty good for a level 70 shield O.o




A pure WT mule lion wearing a cute Driller Boy set ;o; I so want that hat and shield T__T Judging by his horrid base/TM gap (95/55), I'm guessing he got to abuse the Tenter Shield quest too. Some things never change xD




1.4k HP on a level 50 accessory? Hax much? The comps are so hax .__.




Perma 4s level 120 cape..

Strange thing is, the party bulletin is always quiet empty, yet Paradise Shop can be so crowded o.o

The economy's not all that different, but clearly some things are >_> 1st Anniv Cards for 28m each .____. DO WANT.




500m for a 90 MA Arcstick? Either overpriced or they're really deprived of Myhax >_>




And finally, the chat filter, which is much more liberal than ours xD You can use all sorts of profanity and dirty words here, with the exception of the F-word and N-word being censored. See for yourself :>




And something tells me the Japanese don't know that "coon" is a racial slur, and won't mind you using it >.> Or do they? Inb4language ban xD

Thank you for sharing, and I must say that I greatly appreciate you posting this (I'm pretty sure everybody else does as well). It seems like it was an enjoyable adventure, indeed.

The game is the same as our version, in a generalized sense. You could get by just leveling and junk purely off knowledge you have of eTO. Its just the specific things and changes that isnt in our game that would be troublesome. And of course communicating with the other players, but not like people in eTO can communicate anyway >_> lol. *Seen some good examples in the past*
