Why they have to shut down T.O ;.;

Sniff sniff,I will really miss Trickster Online :( Gamerage might put T.O on another company ;o;,Or it might be because of Gameguard errors ;(. I will miss all my best friends I met alot of nice people too. Awesome guilds too. R.I.P T.O, Hope all my best friends will be alright <3 If you have any quotes, please post on this thread! *O*

Gaap 01-26-2013 03:22 PM

My guesses for why they are closing?

- Lack of annual MyShop funds to keep the game running and purchasing the publishing rights on the patches...

- Or even lack of separate funds for the publishing rights, which includes the right to host the game for us.

It might cost alot to re-purchase the game to publish, but IDK. But all I'm saying is that Gamerage probably has no rights to host the game anymore. Some of it is their fault for ruining the trust in customers.. While the other half.. IDK. It was probably hurting the game thanks to the hack during the removal of Gameguard that boost their confidence...

So yea. :(

I can't believe it! http://eemoticons.net/Upload/Big Onion/th_160.gif

The first thing came to my mind when I read that was http://eemoticons.net/Upload/Big Onion/th_149.gif huh, is today April Fool?
Then after read it again http://eemoticons.net/Upload/Big Onion/th_158.gif then http://eemoticons.net/Upload/Big Onion/th_164.gif
And after taking some time to calm down and read it the 3rd times, I was like http://eemoticons.net/Upload/Big Onion/th_34.gifhttp://eemoticons.net/Upload/Big Onion/th_36.gif

Still, I don't like eTO closed http://eemoticons.net/Upload/Big Onion/0000.gif. Maybe some better company will release eTO again but my Sheepie will still be gone forever http://eemoticons.net/Upload/Big Onion/th_164.gif

I still like Trickster (Soul Master) so I guess I'll try other Trickster, anyone with me? http://eemoticons.net/Upload/Big Onion/th_210.gif

My guess for the shutdown would probably be the most practical one:
the game is more work than it's worth

I'm thinking the whole hacker attack which led to the implementation of game guard was probably a really big blow. i'm thinking that gamerage bringing back popular myshop boxes after this was probably a marketing strategy to see if the current population of players could support the game financially....i guess it just wasn't enough for them

InfernalGuy 01-27-2013 05:42 AM

I'm playing tTO. Lack of english speaking players, but people are rather kind and generous, I already made 4 lvl 300+ friends who helps me without me even asking. All of the MS items are tradeable, economy is perfect, no inflation. The main problem is the delay, which can vary from un-noticeable to like 3 or 4 seconds...

Looking for latency fix programs atm to at least soften this problem.

EDIT: you are all wrong, I'll explain it in a moment. Ok, here it is:

"SGI/GAMERAGE is moving to consoles, theyre closing trickster because it ISNT a console game."

And this link: http://mmohuts.com/news/sg-interacti...in-partnership
And this: http://sacbee.com/2013/01/24/5138263...rst-third.html

fate23 01-27-2013 06:01 AM

erm the 1st link just says that they have partnered with z8 nothing about console games was mentioned, correct me if i'm wrong though. As for the 2nd link i can't access it so i don't know lol. got another link for that 2nd one?

Published: Thursday, Jan. 24, 2013 - 8:15 am IRVINE, Calf. and TORONTO, Jan. 24, 2013
SG Interactive, a leading North American free-to-play game publisher, and G4BOX Inc., a North American publisher and distributor of interactive online entertainment media, are proud to announce that starting January 25, Origin™ customers will be able download and play SmileGate's breakout action title, CrossFire. The first free-to-play game from a third-party publisher available on EA's direct-to-consumer gaming platform, CrossFire and CrossFire Europe are alternate-reality military action games that pit teams of players against each other and the environment, in a battle for supremacy. With more than 4.2 million concurrent users globally and 10 distinct game modes, CrossFire challenges players to create strategy and exploit tactics in order to claim victory.
New gamers that sign up and download CrossFire through Origin will receive an exclusive starter package that includes in-game bonuses to experience gain, combat enhancements and free player respawns.
"In today's gaming economy, it is rare to see a game succeed without multiple entries into the market, and finding outlets that share our vision of global support are hard to find," said Jungsoo Lee, vice president of live production for SG Interactive. "Origin allows us to showcase CrossFire to a brand new community of gamers, adding to our 4.2 million user base and opening up to us a world that may not have otherwise known about CrossFire."
Origin offers fast and safe game downloads for more than 500 PC titles from EA and other leading game developers. In addition, Origin features provide a more dynamic and convenient play experience for the gamer. Beyond the fast download capability, automatic log-in and built-in customer service, Origin in-game overlay and chat features make for a livelier gameplay environment, and cloud saves let gamers save and continue games from any computer, anytime, anywhere. For more information about Origin, please visithttp:// Origin.
CrossFire & CrossFire Europe are regional versions of the same fast-paced military-themed combat online action game, pitting two competing mercenary forces, the Global Risk and the Black List, against each other in a war-torn world. Players can choose from a massive armory of realistic firearms, explosives, hand-to- hand weapons and personal body armor used by military forces worldwide. Single and unit-based combat scenarios and location-specific damage combined with popular movie culture create adrenaline-fueled action-packed battles in 10 different gameplay modes including Free-for-All, Escape, Hero, Team Death Match, Elimination, and Search and Destroy. Developed by SmileGate, CrossFire is the largest first-person online shooter in the world with more than 4.2 million concurrent users globally.

And fate, you understand that when you team-up with someone, you can't watch only your business, right? Like you need to prepare a speech (Crossfire) with a friend and you are working only on your project (in this case, TO).
The way I see it, they had no chose

fate23 01-27-2013 07:40 AM

Isn't it like a partnership which means they will cater to both parties which means all of the games?

InfernalGuy 01-27-2013 07:54 AM

No, it means their only concern is their common projects. Getting rid of anything that distracts their attention, and TO was the worst of their games in technical aspect. Endless map move fails, thousands of bugs, continiously targeted by hackers, ruined economy and so on and so on.

kite384 01-27-2013 08:25 AM

I'm not seeing where it says they're moving to console games or the reason why they closed Trickster in both of those links.

Well, console game part might not be true, I've just said what I read. And you can find legit reasons by reading these posts and using analogical thinking. EA =/= a playground, it's real stuff, so if they close TO - more funds for crossfire, more human resources for crossfire, so their game could stand a chance against other games Origin has to offer, no? And I've listed the reasons why TO was *probably* chosen to shut down before

Good luck being frozen there. Herd that ti's region locked and can get caught if you use a foreign IP. So I am not going to even try.

MrCoconut 01-29-2013 04:20 AM

Trickster is so damn empty right now. Why don't we just log on and play til the 27th of February? It's not like we are going to spend more MS anyway. I'm quite disappointed on the announcement. I really haven't leveled my Duelist but I'm just logging on for the sake of it. I know some people who don't log on and just slack in front of the PC/laptop, why don't we just play and pretend Trickster is not going to close down. I know it hurts, but if you guys want to support this game or still believe that it's gonna be picked up by another company and continue then I think logging on is the best way to show it. :)

Let's continue playing like there is no tomorrow.

FOREVER TRICKSTER!
