Gameguard Problems Info Collection

Hey guys, the problems with gameguard everyone seems to be having sound familiar, so I decided to do a little research on it. I have a theory but I don't have a lot of information to prove any of that so I'll take anyone's help, even if you personally don't have problems.

Stuff I need:
Windows Version: (XP/Vista/7)
32 or 64bit: (this is important)
Problems: (firefox is laggy, flash freezes, can't run windows media player, etc)

I'm not sure if I can fix it personally (because 99% is it's gameguard's fault, I'm sure of that) but maybe it will help isolate the problem and then someone else can fix it.

Thanks!

Problems: Firefox crashes if I go to a site that has flash media while running TO;
Taking several minutes to connect to the server and/or select a character.

This, exactly.

However, I used the first issue as an excuse to make the switch over to Chrome, where I do not have issues with Flash.

Windows Version: Windows 7
32 or 64bit: 64-bit
Problems: as soon as i open trickster once, still running or not my whole computer gets laggy as a *insert synonym here*. I can't use Chrome/firefox as it wont even get on google or youtube, it just loads and loads and loads.

But if i restart my computer and do NOT open trickster, everything works fine....:py18:

Windows Version: Windows 7 Home Premium
32 or 64bit: 64bit
Problems:
Without Running as an admin, gameguard crashes as usual.
Running as an admin: The log in server is slow, I can run two clients and Firefox fine though. I have not tried using flash but this site worked fine.

Here is some other info.
Antivirus: Avast!
RAM: 4GB
Not running in compatibility mode.

Hope that helps.

Azumarill 09-28-2012 04:31 PM

Hello.
I hope this will help too?

Windows 7 Home Premium
32 bit (I think)
Problems: None
I am able to run Fire fox too.
And I never changed any settings or anything.
The only difference is that it takes slightly longer time to log into the game at the select server screen. Everything else is normal.

Kisa 09-28-2012 07:53 PM

Windows Version: Windows 7
32 or 64bit: 64-bit
Problems: Lags at the connecting to server screen.
Can only log in as admin
Kills steam if I try to run them at the same time
I can't double client anymore.

I use chrome anyway, and my flash seems to run okay concurrently with trickster, but it does lag alot.

ShinMegami 09-28-2012 07:56 PM

Not sure if it'd help or not, but I was having the issue with fire fox locking up. I went to options and turned off java script under content and it runs much more smoothly now.

I'm on vista 32 bit if that makes any difference, don't think it would.

Sakurawrz 09-28-2012 08:01 PM

Windows 7 Home Premium 64 Bit.
-Antivirus doesn't allow scanning
-Firefox freezes
-Generally everything is slow (even desktop, volume controls, applications etc)
-Abnormally high CPU usage
-Causes Nvidia display driver to stop working

It really sounds like Malware haha. Oh GameGuard... <3

Hate to say it, but it is recommended that you guys format your C drive (if you do not have drive partition).

Lolno...

Thanks to everyone who responded so far. Just so you guys know what I'm trying to get at, I think the main issue stems from the 64 bit version of gameguard TO has, which basically being very naughty and wrecking havoc on everyone's system. If there was a way to get the 32bit version to run instead, which SEEMS to be behaving better, perhaps that would alleviate most of the really bad problems. I can't really prove that unless I can get more people who are running on 32 bit to say they aren't having problems though (other than in-game lag).

I've had the same thing (: And I haven't been suffering from too much lag either.

32 or 64bit: 32 bit

Hello, hope this helps~

Windows Version: XP Professional
32 or 64bit: x64 Bits
Problems: At the time I open two or more clients, sometimes randomly one client crashes and automatically closes.
Another problem is when i'm playing and at random time or rare, gameguard shows an error "an error occurred, please send an email to (gameguard's email support)" and then it closes, the client keeps open and working.

Esperetta 09-29-2012 12:35 PM

OS:
Win7 64bit
16gb RAM
Avast Antivirus.

Problem:
Certain programs keep crashing when I try to run them simultaneously with Trickster.
E.g. Window's Volume Mixer, task manager, photoshop. Although Chrome is fine..
Computer also restarts/crashes when I start trying to run different programs.

Also, I can't run more than 2 clients. Whenever I try to open another client I get keep getting this thing....

Having the same problems too. :py06::py06::py06:

Scixor 09-29-2012 08:06 PM

wow it seems the problems are roughly the same. Ok take note, for people who have had issues of lagging, other programs lagging while TO is on, problems with pc itself especially booting issues, I have a diagnosis for your computers out there.
Most probably your coms have registry problem internally, or other problems internally.
Hate to say it, but it is recommended that you guys format your C drive (if you do not have drive partition).

P. S I had the exact same problem as Dream, except it was another MMO called seven core. After I formatted my pc, everything seems fine as heaven

I'm pretty sure you don't have to worry about this slight lag, it's the GameGuard working in progress.

Their request regarding GameGuard

Dear zemega, Thank you for contacting us. A SG Interactive representative will be contacting you soon. Your Question : Just to raise a question. Assume GameGuard is back, implemented and it is necessary to run GameGuard when playing Trickster. If we bypass the GameGuard and run Trickster without running GameGuard, doesn't that raise a flag somewhere? because it will look like we're hacking, and possibly get permanent ban. Our Answer:
Hello zemega,

Thank you for contacting the Trickster Online 1:1 support team. I understand you would like to know if bypassing GameGuard will get you banned. We do not recommend altering with the game files as this is against the Terms Of Use. We are currently asking those players experiencing issues with GameGuard to please provide their DXDIAG Report.

To get this file please follow these instructions.
Click on the ‘Start’ logo located on the bottom right hand corner of your window.

Under the ‘Search’ Field please enter ‘run’

When the new window opens, please type ‘dxdiag’ and click ‘OK’

Please let the process run and once it’s completed, click on ‘Save All Information’ and save it to your desktop.

Next open the file that was saved on your desktop and copy and paste all that information into your 1:1 support ticket. We will also need the name of the antivirus program you currently have installed on your computer and what steps if any you have taken to try and resolve this issue on your end.

The last step is to submit your ticket to us and we will handle the rest.

We thank you for your patience and cooperation regarding this issue. As soon as we have any news or updates regarding this matter, we will make an announcement on the Trickster website ( Welcome to Trickster Online)

Until this issue is officially resolved you could also try the following.

After you have download the Trickster file onto your computer, before you install it, you should provide or make "exceptions" (put Trickster in the list of safe programs) for Trickster components such as Trickster.exe or main.exe so that the game can pass through any security settings you may have enabled. You may also choose to bypass your antivirus program while the installation is taking place but be sure that you do not have anything else running on the background.

Some antivirus programs such as Trend Micro and Avast have been known to recently cause issues with Trickster. If you are using either of these two programs you may want to try using different software to see if this helps. Once again we thank you for your patience and understanding. We look forward to hearing again from you with your dxdiag report.

Sincerely,

Killigrew
