it goes waaayyyy back
it was originally in "Xx____xX" format

My IGN was picked from Faroe Islands, Faroe meaning sheep in faroese so I made a Pharoe to play as a sheep @_@

dfighter: his name came from an old MMO i played where my favorite class was dragon fighter (shortened to dfighter lol) and a bunch of other places.
my sheep: secretagentsheep, came from a convo in our guild about sheeps and guns XD
my raccoon: Yeharu, came from a larp with a friend of mine.

Well.. when I created my first character (iFuelVT and later iFuel) almost nobody was using "i" in front of name..
I really think a few players (like me and iTalk) started this trend.. then many people followed.. and yes.. we certainly followed the apple way of naming things (which I think is pretty cool)
I really don't like also names with "xX___Xx" or "anime-character-name664748"
For the "BR" as a brazilian I have to say that I understand quite clearly why so much people use it.. it's just easier to find people to talk in our own language so many brazilians like to use, personally I don't use... because as anyone can't see in any online game most players are not fond of brazilian players.. so I rather do not tell from where I'm from..

I personally like to create names that are names (most of the time a name that would suit the character in the role-playing world)... meaning, if a name is taken I won't end up putting XxNAMExX or OoNameoO. It looks tacky as hell.

Also, generic names in reference to animes annoy me to no end. At least attempt to get some originality so you can stand out. Narutomaster, xXKakashi24Xx, XLegosephirothX and such are so last year.

My bunny that few people know the existance of is EryxSchroeder. Eryx means Boxer in Greek, and Schroeder is just a play on LeonSchroeder's last name >.> Hmm what else.... I try to get as creative as I can with my names... like LeonMuleVII or something. I have chars named iPanthera and iBubalis, guess what animals they are =0

I have 2 chars with original names (although I named my lion after my racoon along a similar trend) but my bunny..haha i went crazy and since her name is crazy i put the x______x around it just to seem that much more over the top

I steal my nicks off random things, or make up something if I'm feeling original. As far as adding country suffixes (eg ____BR) go, apparently they do it to find players from their countries. A Brazilian friend of mine once told me they're not too good with English, so they want to find players who can speak their native tongue.

Actually I'm not bothered by random numbers or Xx's, but I'm definitely irritated by people who make spelling errors in their IGNs and never bother to correct them (xxxsuperloin2009xxx). I mean, all it takes is for you to go back to the character creation screen and rectify the error? .__________________.

I look through baby name sites until I see something I like, for instance Mitsuye = Branch of Light = Hybrid Light sheepie. If the names I like are taken, I resort to raiding my favorite books.

The iName is simple. It was started by Apple with the iPod.

I find that the most uncommon name is one that is a series of numbers such as 84934712.

Who remembers the dragon that we called "numbers" from way back in the beta days?
