vista connecting to internet

hi i have a problem with vista's lan/internet connection. whenever i start up my laptop sometimes the lan disappears,its wasn't there when i checked "manage mynetwork connection", but there is still an icon in the quickstart panel. so in effect i cannot connect, but it was remidied by restarting my computer but i dont want to do that everytime i wanna connect can someone help me?

I had the same issue in my Vista days. I solved it by disabling driver signature enforcement. A simple google will show you many ways to do so, pick whichever suits your needs.
