Does that account work on another PC?

reinstall with your antivirus disabled?
uninstall gameguard or remove any other leftover gameguard files then install again.

try disabling firewall?
Start -> Run -> cmd -> net stop "Windows Firewall"

you might also want to use revo uninstaller to uninstall.
