you can close this but for future references, I'll leave my problem in a spoiler tag.
Spoiler!
Ain't working as in it won't connect to the internet.
Anyways, I'll start from the beginning. First of all, I'm using a Windows XP. I'm using a D-Link DIR-615 Wireless Router. I'm connected to the internet using Comcast Cable. When I first got the router, it worked just fine, a few mess ups and there since it was my first time setting one up but overall it worked fine. A few weeks later, my parents decided to "move" the computer into a different room then after that. The router stopped connecting to the internet. I can still connect normally the old way. (Modem)
The only things that changed was where the computer is located in my house and which cable connecting to the internet is being used (Which use to be one in a different room but now using the one in my room since its closer and the previous one is too far.)
So every time i re-hook the router, i get the notification from windows "Limited or no internet connections" and "IP needs renewing". Using the "Repair" option does not fix it, it still gives me the same "Limited or no internet connections" and "IP needs renewing" response. I cannot reinstall the router either since i still the the same response during connection set up.
I've tried renewing my IP but it doesn't change or help. (run -> cmd -> configip -> ipconfig /release -> ipconfig /renew)
Personally, what I think is wrong is that the router 'saved' the info (IP and stuff) from that location where it use to be and won't work anywhere else unless you change the settings, so I would have to go back to the old spot and 'maybe' it'll work again allowing me to re-setup the connection but I recently checked our cable lines and we have 3 separate cables connecting into 1 cable going into those cables in the telephone lines and stuff, so I'm not too sure about IP's being any different. I may be wrong and even if my guess was right, I have no clue how to fix this.
Anyone have any ideas what could possibly be wrong?
If no one has any idea's, i'll probably be forced to take it back and just replace it.
