Windows Vista; Icons on desktop don't stay after arranged.

Not sure if the title was informative enough. Lol.

Anyways, I use Windows Vista Home Basic. Problem being is I want rarely used icons to be in the top left/right corners of my monitor on my desktop screen. Well, after I un-check the "Align to Grid" thing and place the desktop icons where I want them, they stay. When I restart my computer, everything is back on the left where it originally was.

Any solutions as to how to get my icons to stay?

Do you manually restart your computer or do you open the start menu and turn off from there?

try logging off and logging on and see if that even stays, if it doesn't it could be the problem with your profile.

To test:
Start -> Control Panel -> User Accounts and Family Safety -> Add a new account
Login and test with that account and see if the icon layout stays.
