Unhappy Desktop monitor kept flickering

Recently my desktop's screen would keep flickering, and sometimes I can even hear buzzing sound coming from the monitor itself (not computer's).

I guess my monitor's probably too old or something (it's been at least 4 years I think)

I did a little search on the internet, some ppl suggested try checking if the cords are tightly connected to computer and power supply, and then it just occurred to me:

How am I going to check if the problem really lies with my monitor but not the computer? (I don't have another desktop to check the monitor, and I'm not sure if I can connected it to my parents' laptop...)

Anyone know the computer/monitor well to give me some opinions or advices?

P.S. It haven't gotten to the point that it's constantly flickering yet, sometimes it'd flicker for about 10 mins then be fine again for the next 1 hour...

you press the menu button
if the menu flicker it is the monitor, if it doesn't it is the computer/cable

You mean the menu that changes contrast/brightness stuff?
It does still flicker when I opened it up...D:

EDIT:
Ok, after some testing, it's not the power supply, it is also not the cable connecting to power supply, and I just recalled I changed the cable connected to computer not too long ago (at best 1 year), so it seems it's most likely my monitor, or the computer...I really hope it's not the later one ;_;

It is probably the monitor.
Would be good if you have another computer or laptop you can test with.

The chance of a power cable spoiling is really low.
I have never seen a spoiled power cable before. (apart from physical damage)
Although i have seen power problems before which ends up being the room's power supply.
