PvM/Bossing Lion

I plan on making a lion in the near future and I've been wondering: which build would be better for a PvM Lion? I will probably go pure during 3rd job. I don't have much acess to MyShop at the moment. So what should I go with? 4141, 3142, 2143, or 1144?

My PvM/Bossing Lion is 1144 Pure AC and I love it. I also don't have much access to myshop but I'm very lucky in gacha and what free stuff I have and it's working out very well for me. If you don't have much myshop, I personally suggest 1144 because getting enough HP without sacrificing some AC is hard enough. Considering lions don't have a proper AC buff, you really want to be able to invest in some good AC gear with what you have instead of having to pump HP just to survive. You can go for the Karan set at 150 and there's now a lot of good ultimate equipment on sale with the new boss system. Focus on your TM and try to get Shooting Spree as soon as you can - it's a fun skill and is a helpful little combo for Power Shot for bosses like Tombeth. There are some decent AC accessories in-game as well - I've had little to no problem with my lion so far.

I suggest going pure if you're only PvM/Bossing, the fox buffs are more for if you want to PvP (which lions do not excel in, to be quite frank)

I'm no lion expert, but that's my bit of advice :3

Thanks for your input. One thing that caught my eye about a Lion was shooting spree and how easily it could be to farm items. I'll be sure to get Shooting Spree as soon as possible.

I also like how I can carry a LOT more items compared to my cat, but that's what I get for going 4114 with her.

Ok, for a PvM lion, you will not have to worry about LK. 1144 or 2143 are your go-to builds, putting all points into AC. without myshop, you will probably be using Boss accessories and AC Boss Hats. if you're not going to buy a myshop gun, the only options are karan gun or a good requiem/ult. gun. As far as pets go, there arent any that are good for gunners at a higher level.

I suggest 1144. Very few people can be successful with 4141 even with MyHax xP, especially on bossing. All points into AC or HP, doesn't really matter, depending on how you want to focus your gears, usually pure AC is the way to go.

The Karan Set is usually ideal, but not sure how much they'll cost so Ult Guns from bosses, or Phantom Guns at higher levels are the alternative. Without MyShop it's quite hard to get the AC gear for Cape/Headgear if any. A vest can probably be purchased from Egg Shop vendors or GM belts. Pets...I haven't thought of using a non-MyShop pet, but there must be some Egg Shop pets that are worthwhile?

Pure for 3rd job would be a good idea. The extra AoE and critical damage makes it much faster to do boss runs (*regrets not going pure*). Anyways, good luck on your lion.

Well when I say that I don't have much acess to MyShop I meant that I'm not someone who's going to waste hundreds of dollars on it. A few here and there is fine, though. As a matter of fact I plan on buying 1 of each of the American boxes and comp AC and HP on those items.

Currently my Lion is 1144 Pure AC Lv 60/56. Since level 35 I've been meleeing with Pharaoh items and I'm wondering, when should I switch to guns? I was thinking I was going to do the switch whenever I found a good gun to use but so far I haven't seen anyone selling good level 65ish guns.

You should switch to guns as soon as you mastered power shot, hurts like hell, 1hkos with little effort.
If you cannot get a 65 ult gun then lv 50 ult antique gun is good as well. Comp'd with ac and refined to lv 4 or so, it could last you to around 100.

you could try grinding with guns, but training with melee is probably faster until you get AoE skills.

That sounds like a good idea. What is the general level that people can get Shooting Spree? I know it's TM level 70 but if I do all of the quests, at what base level should I expect to get Shooting Spree? I'm trying to plan my gears for that level.

You'll probably get spree around level 80-90, depending on how much attention to pay to your TM. I managed to get spree between level 75-80 because Fiesta Zones happened to be open. If you do Mirage Island right at level 80 (with just a myshop pet and helmet - Lycan Equipment - I managed to beat Don on my second try by just hitting and running), your TM will get a huge boost from it. If you've gone 1144 you should be able to devote most of your accessories to AC (all if you have myshop), as I have plenty of HP to train with just a few pieces of myshop.

1144 Pure AC and full AC gears. If you have problems hitting bosses, or dodging magic from bosses just substitute some AC gears for LK. Your goal is having as little LK as possible but enough to dodge all magic and 100% hit. Also practice on time crits and I'd recommend Scientist now if it's solely for PvM.

Did you use a sprint when fighting Don? I hear a lot of Lions saying that is the only way they beat him.

Also: I need some ideas on where to train. I've done most of the quests up to the Oops Wharf key quest (lv70). I'm currently level 70 and I've started to use guns. I haven't bought myshop yet but I can do about 4-5k with Power Shot. Path to Oops is really bad experience right now.

I didn't use a sprint. For training my lion (this was really recently), I soloed the 2nd Floor of Phantom School (close repot at the Annex). I did this for a bit and finished off with a few Mermaid Palace quests to bump me up to level 80. Right at level 80 I did Episode 2 (having previously gathered all the quest items), and got roughly to level 90/80. At level 91, I solo boostered Machine Room to level 100 and did Ghost Blue quests to level 107 (and that was 10 Ghost Blue Quests). I plan on getting an AFKer for Ghost Blue PQ to get to 110 at least (or whenever the exp starts to suck).

I can pull out my gears I used for Don/Mirage/Machine Room later, I'm vending atm.

So you trained in the room with the female ghosts? Or was it a seperate room in the 2nd floor?

Yeah, I trained in that hallway. I think I vended most of my stuff, but I took on Don G with about 5k HP and like... 160-180 total AC. I'm not positive on the numbers. I have no idea how to took him on without a sprint. I think I kept my distance at all times so I could get out of there when he beserked so I'd be out of his range.

Currently I'm level 81 and I'm working on Episode 2. The closest I've gotten to killing Don was 50% health then he Berserker'd and I was too close, bam, dead. He's noot hard to beat though... just time consuming. I haven't been able to get Shooting Spree yet but I'm really close. When I finish episode 2 completely I should have it. :]

If you're having trouble getting out of there (I guess I was just lucky, lol), try investing in a sprint? Level 40 GBs go for like 1-1.5 mil now, poke around Mega you may find a deal. By the end of Ep2 you should be around level 90. If you do the panacea quest right away you could shorten your base/TM gap to roughly 10 levels, give or take a few. Good luck with Don G!

Before I try to kill Don again I'm going to get a better gun. I'm still using the same gun that I've been using since level 50. I was going to buy some MyShop stuff today but unfortunately I couldn't find any prepaid cards anywhere. :<

I probably will buy a Sprint though. Don is pretty fast and it's sometimes hard to get him off my tail...

Update!: I just killed Don after my 6th try and after completing the 'Writing on the Knife' quest I gained 3 TM Levels and now I can use Shooting Spree!! So happy right now. :3
