Much has been made of how unbelievably stupid SEED's overarching plotline is.
Blue Cosmos, the primary antagonists who's impossible combination of total control over the Earth's military and profound stupidity, the unstoppable Ubermensch that is Jesus Yamato, the bipolar madness of ZAFT's leadership, and the overwhelming childish stupidity that permeates the entirety of the Cosmic Era (Except for ASTRAY, which focuses mostly on the adventures of Captain Awesome and his wacky sidekick Ork-Boy).
Even more so than ZZ and Wing, SEED and SEED DESTINY are the most reviled Gundam series among the hardcore Gundam fans. Much of this hate is based on the absurd production problems that plagued SEED DESTINY due to the irresponsibility of the head writer, with the rest being derived from the idiocy of the plot, due to the incompetence of the head writer.
However, there is one single thing that redeems SEED's sins wholly and utterly. A writer's saving throw that landed on 20 and also somehow cured childhood leukemia using the power of Friendship.
This single, miraculous plot element? Everything that happened in SEED was a setup. A scam of epic scope and scale that passed so far under the radar that nothing ANY of the protagonists of the story did could ever stop it. In fact, their actions only made the plan work BETTER.
I mean if you were an emotionally unstable kid piloting a Gundam and failing to kill someone, letting someone die...I'm pretty sure you would cry too.
i would laugh and go on a jesus yamoto style KILLING spree, and kill everyone i can possibly kill

Everyone is just jelly that they can't be like Jesus Yamato. Can't have a purdy girl with pink hair and make things that good boom for you. Can't have a sister who seemed like they want you bad. Can't have yaoi shit with your BFF. Can live through anything that goes his way. Damn right y'all are jelly of him. I had to do this. =)
