Sorry for the lateness/earlyness, I got the timing mixed up. Anyway, here it is. This week's MSoTW is:
In the CE Universe:
The very first ZAFT made Gundam type Mobile Suit, the YMF-X00A Dreadnought Gundam served as a testbed for the ZGMF-X13A Providence Gundam. Made using a GuAIZ frame, the Dreadnought's system features, such as the N Jammer Canceller and the Nuclear Fission Reactor, were used again on it's brother units: The Freedom Gundam, Justice Gundam, Providence Gundam, Regenerate Gundam, and Testament Gundam.
UNIT TYPE: A RANK SCISSOR
A decent suit with a very simple moveset, it can reach amazing potential if the person using it can make use of it's unique characteristics.
Weapon #1: "MA-MV04" Composite Shield System
The Predecessor of the Providence's Shield, The Dreadnought can use the mounted beam sabre for a 4-hit melee attack that is a tad slow.
Weapon #2: "MA-M22Y" Beam Rifle
A simple beam rifle with 12 shots in it. Range and Reload are both Medium. Not much to say about this weapon.
Weapon #3: "XM1" Pristis Beam Reamers
Dreadnought's most interesting weapon. These Beam Reamers acted as the prototype to the famous DRAGOON System used on Providence Gundam. Like most remote weapons, these have a long reload time. However, unlike most remote weapons, these units have a Medium range, whereas most other "Remotes" have a long range capacity.
The Dreadnought fires it's Beam Reamers and shoots it's Rifle while the reamers attack the enemy.
Skill 1: Phase Shift Armor
Protects the unit using it by lowering damage from ballistic weapons (E.g, Machine Guns, Vulcans, Bazookas, Cannons, etc.).
Skill 2: N-Jammer Canceller
Dreadnought's Trademark skill. Allows the unit using it to dash for an infinite amount of time. So as to not be too OP, the skill does not affect vertical dashing. So if you jump, your dash gauge still goes down.
One of my personal units, the Dreadnought Gundam is a simple unit with a bit of flair mixed into it, by way of it's 3rd Weapon and 2nd Skill. Anybody who has used Aile Strike, Force Impulse, and Freedom Gundam with comfort should be able to operate this Unit without many problems. Most strategies devised to be used with units such as Freedom are also compatible with Dreadnought (E.g, The ever popular "Freedom Sideways dash-shoot" move is compatible with Dreadnought).
Dreadnought Gundam is the epitome of a "Hit-and-Run" unit, utilizing it's beam rifle in conjunction with it's speed, or if NJC is activated, it's unlimited boost. It's base stats display it's high speed, while also showcasing it's generally low HP. To lower it's squishyness, while keeping it's speed, increasing it's HP is suggested. Elevating it's attack is also a candid idea, but personally I would prefer to keep the unit alive for as long as possible to reap the benefits of the NJC.
Alright, unfortunately this is the end of the show. Please enjoy these Videos showcasing this gem of a unit, and feel free to leave your comments below. Thanks for watching~
keep in mind to be careful with special, its somehwat obvious becuase your funnels appear to be reloaded when you have special equipped. So if ur funnels are already hitting someone and they see you have them out again they know your going to spec =V
That should be obvious already, even without using both Pristis'. It's easy to notice a special attack on most remote weapon equipped MS, because when spec is selected only 1 remote is floating. In Dreadnought's case, only 1 Pristis is out, is contrast to both being out when wep 3 is selected.
what i mean is, normally when your funnels are reloaded, they're there
but when you select special, they're there regardless of whether or not ur funnels have reloaded, so assuming someone sees you fire a funnel, and then suddenly they are reloaded, yeah that person will be ready to sp counter =D
The damage of the rifle irks me....
And the fact that the pristis blow up so fast it never helps does not do anything to improve the damage caused...
Meele is scissor tier, meaning most rocks will kill you in close range.
