If your Network lag is smaller than 30ms
Then SS is not likely to happen.
It's strange that sometimes, I doesn't make any boost sound, however, I just cannot SS.

Does high ping result in easier SS?

I am not sure about that.
However, big network latency ends up with higher possibility to hit ur enemy with SS.
Then with two hits you can drag ur enemy back to earth instead of flying away : )

Well, you know, I play SD in the other side of earth.
I don't like or specialize in abusing lag. I m just familiar with lag: )

Some players hate Lag players.
However, in this game Lag players are the disadvantaged.
Lag players need to take a lot more effort to play against those not lag players.
They need to calculate where is the real one most of times.
They need to wait for a while after I press R to transform : )
They need to wait for a while if I spec.
Sometimes, They don't know how they died : )
They just need more understanding from other players : )

You never saw lag abuse, I'm 100% sure.
Lag players can,
Slip out of meele
Teleport while normally boosting
Not get affected by SP
Not get hit by status ailments until a while later
Antiflinch meele you
Nullify your ZBS with lag antiflinch
lots of other crap.

you do know, while you only see that happen to lagging players

its like that with EVERYONE for laggers =V

Though, once you do get used to it, i find it can be used advantageously as you are actually a bit ahead of where you appear to be when you try to melee someone. Also, you get used to the timings of everything eventually XD

Not everyone, cause I see like 70% of them not using SS/MCA to catch me, yet I still get struck down from some super large building sized sword when they are not even close to me. (RFP is like the only rock that works for me now due to all these crap)

everyone flies out of melee, gets status aliment ranodmly later, etc

That's the problem. You can get so familiar to lag because you play as a lagger all the time, you become accustomed to it, to the point you where know how to abuse it.

Normal players do not get used to, or want to play against laggy players 24/7 just so they can come up with some stupid strategy to fight against laggers.

I am not particularly biased against laggers, but to those who lag and are proud of abusing it, I have something against that. Like this guy whom I played with at points match not too long ago, who one-mile-meleed people while using Strike Noir, and locked us randomly while his team-mates get the kill.

That player is too lag...
Too lag players are easy targets.
Find their real body. Usually way lag behind.
Go there and hit many many critical : )
Then he will explode immediately.

Usually these big network latency are cause by special software like qq doc, not geographical location.

Not in TW they don't, they have no "real body", there is only one, one that is moving and doing all sorts of crap.
Those super lag players who "ghost" can kill you anyway before you get them, cause you usually will be fighting the people shooting at you that distracts you anyway.
lag is abused alot in TW, unintentionally or intentionally.

wait, so are you supposed to press w, weapon2+w as soon as you press on the left button, or are you supposed to do it as done in weapon cancel? also, there's no need to switch back to weapon 1?

wep 1 left click, wep2 then ww then wep1 works also, it's been tested for ages.....
In other words, normal SS, seriously it just depends on how many empty swings you do to cause lag.

Of course you need to switch back to w1 to slash : )

In practice, you don't really need to immediately press left button. Sometiems If you press left button at no time, you cannot SS in certain terrain.
You can dash just for a little while, but not long.
It better be less than 0.5s.
If your dash without boost sound for too long, SS is not likely coming out.

SS is just simply what was told in hexi's video, and that SS with slight lag and SSing at air will cause the slide motion once you use meele dash and WILL OCCUR WITHOUT A DOUBT.
THE TELEPORT IS JUST A MERE ILLUSION.
It is as when you SS at the air, you create a fake image with SS when done with the right timing and it is easier to perform with a building as it is basically SS in ONE SPOT, and then SS with MEELE DASH TO MOVE WITH SLIDE, however the illusion of the "fake body" still appears on the enemies's screen due to the "lag" created by SS to make them think you are not there.
SS is a means to create artificial lag, which can be a double edged sword. (you want to know the side effects? look above)

Anyway, I really don't get why you guys think SS is so hard. It's just doing MCA repeatedly without hitting someone.

I use SS all the time to save boost. It's not just for sliding slashes.

IMO. If you guys wanna get good at melee learn how to ADVANCED MCA. There's also a video on how to react after a miss.
