weap 2 -> weap 3 loop

I've seen this w2-w3-w2-w3 loop mentioned a few times on here so I was just wondering what the deal is?

Does the loop reduce the delay or something? Is it only for certain MS or what?

i think this is used for suits like The 0 AR, Aegis and zaku III
they have stun gun for w3, so using w3 to stun enemy and use w2 for another hit..

No @ nat. But there's that reason too.

Basically it increases ur shooting speed overall->more dps

Think of it like this.
one normal shot is:
-delay of holding up weap-
-shoot-
-delay of bringing down the weap-

But if u switch shot
you replace -delay of bringing down the weap-
with
-switching weapon delay-

now -switching weapon delay- is much shorter relative to the -delay of bringing weapon down-

so there you go, less time= more shots.

Keep in mind that for some suits there is no benefit in doing this because the delay in bringing up the other weapon is almost the same as shooting again or maybe even less. This mainly goes for vulcans and machine guns as ur main weapon.

I often call this switch-shotting.
A few suits are really good with this and its VERY noticeable such as
MK-II Aeug
G-3 AR (damn the vulcan in between is sexy)

Of course, there may be others who want to refine this explanation but this is just what i found from almost the start of my sdgo career :<

Usually it is to increase damage output. That is basically the whole point. Some MS have very smooth transaction switching from w3 to w2 so people chain it for more damage.

Of course you can always listen to other pros with much more technical reasons and knows what they are talking about.

I find that people use it for burst damage on Hyaku AS, Buster AR, Zeta AS, etc.

They run out of ammo afterwards, but do a hell lot of damage in the meantime.

I use it often to stop weapon delay as Hexi said. For example.

Saviour W3--->W2 Is much faster then just going W3. I do the same thing with F91.

In the W2 case I do this with Destiny (Used to stop people going towards me though.)

W2--->W1---->W3

You will notice you will do MORE damage and at the same time MUCH faster.

Its sounds more like you want to do more damage rather than "stop" delay... if you want to Stop delay, you do not necessarily need to chain it.

But mehz, i'll stop here goes back to my own world.

i think this loop is especially good on the freedom
you can switch between them and shoot them very quickly
from behind, you can destroy many MA and papers very quickly

Destiny is actually not really a switch shooter.
the most you can probably chain is the w2,w1,w2,w3.
But usually u wont have a chance to get that unless the enemy doesnt know ur there and ur in a good position.

The w1 for destiny reloads too slow for a good chain.
the w3 knocksdown, breaking any chance to chain it too.

For destiny, its more for a shooting combo like saviour and stun guns.
