[TW] Mission Guide

Have quite a few requests for missions recently. While I generally don't mind helping out, it's best if you know what you should be doing, so I don't have to explain so much. And thus I've decided to create this guide.

Below are my experiences and methods to clear the missions. If you have a more efficient method, by all means use that instead.

If you are a newbie, a Psycho and Apsallus should be enough to get you past most of the missions. So work towards getting those 2 and leveling them

Also, please have at least one of the MS required as stated in the guides below, AND AT LEASTED GRINDED WITH ALL SKILLS UNLOCKED. If your only have 1 MS that fits the bill and only 1 of that MS is required, it may be possible that you may not be eligible for the mission.

Example: Only 1 God Gundam can be supported for EX2. If 2 players comes in with Gods, then 1 of them will have to switch, or sit out.

Lastly, if you are requesting help from me, please learn how to follow instructions. When I say shoot only, don't go and melee. And also, I am under no obligations to help anyone of you. I do help in clearing missions, but if I am grinding/PvPing well and I don't feel like helping, tough luck.

Mission 1: Psychos in Hong Kong

Quote:

H1

Team setup:
Any decent team of A - S ranked scissors

Nothing much to say, except don't spec boss unless you are confident of killing it.

Quote:

EX1

Team setup:
4 G3-AR
3 G3 AR + Wing Zero

Skill parts:
Preferably with vaccine for all, but not really required.

Items:
Not necessary. Cyclops/NT pressure can be used to buy the opportunity to escape from the zakus should they hound you.

G3-AR is prefered due to it's endless amount of physical type ammo, aoe spec and latent potential. A single w0 can be supported, but it is probably the worst ms to be able to do this mission.

At the start, move to the area where the first psycho will spawn. Stay on top of the buildings. Kill some zakus to gain sp. Do not ever kill doms throughout the mission unless you need to spawn a psycho. Killing a dom will cause 2 zakus to spawn.

Boss will spawn at the 4:40, 3:40 and 3:00 mark if you kill a creep after the timings have passed. Take note of the timing and have someone to kill a creep once the timer hits. The more psychos around, the better, since you can shoot the other one if one of them is using it's spec.

If you are attacked by zakus, don't be afraid to spec them. It is almost necessary for you to try to stay alive till the end of the mission, since you require all the firepower available.

Find out who the psycho is shooting. Those whom the psycho is ignoring should try to move to it's back to crit. Remember to continue shooting while making your way to it's back.

If possible, stay on top of buildings. Being on ground = zaku rape.

Finally, since the Psychos have fortress, once a Psycho is within 2 pixels of it's life, feel free to spec it. You should kill it instantly.

No interest in clearing it, since you can buy the plan in shops.

Mission 2: Defend the Shuttles

Quote:

H2/EX2/EX2 - RFP
All are similar, except that H2 has creeps that have less defense, and H2 has less back spawns. EX2 for RFP is the same as EX2 except for RFP you have to kill a lot faster.

Team Setup:
2 Psycho AR + Apsallus + God (W0-EW can replace God for normal EX2)
Psycho AR + 2 Apsallus + God (W0-EW can replace God for normal EX2)
2 Psycho AR + 2 Apsallus

Skill parts:
Psycho AR - Melee part if possible, but not necessary
God - Newtype Arousal

Items:
Cyclops are a good bet, although not necessary

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v7...A/SDGO/EX2.png

First, the positioning. The above are the positioning for the first 2 team setup. For the third setup, the second Apsallus should take position 2 as well instead of 3.

All Apsallus players are required to know how to bleed.

Player 1's job is to stand in front of the S3. The big size should block a considerable amount of beams from Rick Dias and Ginn. Stomp any rocks that get too close. Your priority should be destorying MS to your front, before helping out right, then left. If there are back spawns, turn around and shoot through the shuttle, but do not move away from your spot. If you are close to dying and the game is in the last 2 minutes or so, choose a safe time and suicide, since you are essential in the last 40 seconds of the onslaught. P1 should NEVER spec.

Player 2's job is to stand at the left of S3. With the infinite ammo it should focus it's firepower to the left as the top priority, then the front. Only help the back if absolutely necessary. Spec if you are meleed, and inform P1 so he can clear the creeps.

Player 3's job is to guard against spawns from the right and back. He should macro a message saying that there are back spawns. Psycho AR should keep a constant lookout for back/right spawns, but if it is free it can help P1 or P2. If P3 is an aps, it's main priority is to check the back and shoot those from the right/front, and be a meat shield against back spawns if necessary. For Aps, spec if you are meleed or if the back spawns are attacking S3, and inform P1 so he can clear the creeps.

Player 4's job is basically to roam about and kill all in that are still of considerable distance to the shuttle. He should move back to the shuttle in the last 40(?) sec of onslaught to aid the defense for EX. While roaming, priority of killing should be as follow: Zgok -> Ginn -> Zaku -> Rick Dias

All 4 players should macro a message saying they are dead. P1 should cover the duties of P2/P3 as well should they be dead. P3 should cover P1's area if P1 is dead/suiciding.

Depending on how fast you kill, the back spawns are usually in the region of 3:40, 2:40 and 1:40. They are rough estimates, so judge accordingly.

Cyclops are a good aid against back spawns and the final 40(?) seconds.

Mission 3: Destroy the Apsallus

Quote:

H3/EX3

Team Setup:
2 Psycho + Red Frame + Wing Zero AR/Wing Zero

Can be cleared through the traditional Red Frame jamming. Just find a Red Frame who knows how to jam. Move through the gates without killing any creeps. At the 3:00 spot, the Wing should kill creeps until Amatsu spawns (3 if I remember right). 2 Psychos should stick close to each other to alternate tank Amatsu's melee, while w0 shoots from afar. Do the same thing for Rising. Aps should spawn without any Acguys, but if an acguy do spawn, kill it first by having an Psycho to lock it in position using the beam spec, while the other 2 crit. Finally have a Psycho to tank the Aps, while the other 2 crit the back.

If your mission does not require the killing of Amatsu/Rising, you can just ignore them and kill the Aps as long as there are no Acguys around.

Quote:

EX3 - GP03

Team setup:
3 Psycho + God/Wing Zero AR

Skill parts:
Vaccine for all

Items:
Cyclops are optional, but highly recommended for less headache against the Acguys.

Once mission start, move towards the first gate and destroy it immediately. After that, move forward for a short distance, then face the spawns. Psychos should stay in front while protecting w0/God, who should be helping by using the MGs. Once a Psycho has a spec, change to MA mode, ensure that your spec will skewer the creeps, and fire.

The 2nd wave of creeps should spawn soon near gate 2. One of the Psycho should move to face gate 2, and spec the creeps once they spawn. The Psycho without SP should start shooting immediately to gain SP, and the w0/God should assist with MG. The last Psycho with spec should turn into MA mode and move to the gate. Once the spec of the second Psycho finishes, the third Psycho should fire the spec.

Kill all creeps, or else Acguys will not spawn. w0/God should not have died even once up till this point.

Destroy the second gate. The 3 Psychos should stick in a triangular formation somewhere between the gate and the centre of the map. Amatsu and Rising should alternate in meleeing the 3 Psychos. One of the Psycho should spec Amatsu to lock it, while the rest of the Psycho shoot it first. w0 should crit it using the MG, while God can crit using 7 hits of melee (4+3 hits). Don't knock Amatsu down. After Amatsu is dead, focus your attention on Rising, even though it is not required in your mission to kill it. Again, the Psychos divert the attention, while the God/w0 attack it. Do not spec Rising, as the beam spec cannot immobilise it. God should never knock Rising down, although I don't think you can.

If you have cyclops, you should use it once Acguys are within range.

Finally, turn your attention to the Acguys. Focus on an Acguy 1 at a time. 1 Psycho should lock an Acguy down, while the rest move to the back and crit. If you are God, do 7 melee crits, then move in to another Acguy. Rinse and repeat for all the Acguys. Finally, have a Psycho to gain the attention of Aps, and the rest crit it. If possible God should try to melee the back, which can be done as long as Aps is not flying at an impossible altitude.

Mission 4: Defeating Aile in Test Factory

Quote:

EX4

Team Setup:
3 Apsallus, 1 Psycho

Skill Parts:
Vaccine

In the first part, kill the balls. Nothing much to say, except if the Aps are dying, they can turtle behind the Psycho and let it tank the hits.

In part 2, all should move to the extreme left of the map. Psycho will tank, while the Aps should fire spec if they can skewer enough of the opponent MS.

In part 3, 1 Aps will take the left turrents, and 1 right. Alternate between speccing and shooting. Your SP should gain quickly since your shots penetrate. The third Aps can alternate between the 2 sides depending on which sides have more turrets. Psycho should try to kill the creeps that spawn since they are included in the kills.

Part 4, have someone to lure the Aile, and move to the left corner of the map. Once there, surround the Aile. Continuously shoot the Aile if the Aps have infinite shots, if not spec it whenever you have the chance. Never ever knockdown Aile.

Mission 6: Bucues' Assault in Desert

Quote:

H/EX

Team Setup:
4 Apsallus

Parts:
Vaccines

Items:
Cyclops, but not necessary

Basically each Aps move to each corner of the map, and start shooting at whatever you see. Take special notice of Xamels and shoot those as your top priority cause they do knockdowns. Spec whenever your SP is full and can skewer multiple enemies at once.

Mission 7: Destroying the Ships

Quote:

EX7

Team setup:
2 Psycho + Freedom + Psycho/Freedom

Parts:
Newtype Arousal

Items:
Cyclops are highly recommended

Part 1 basically has 2 methods of clearing, though both are similar. If there are 3 Psychos, have all MS descend to the bottom, then have the Psychos surround the lone Freedom and tank all damage. If there are 2 Psychos, all MS should descent and go towards the far left corner of the room. Then the 2 Psychos are to shield the 2 MS in a corner. After that, it is basically a matter of destroying the daggers required as quickly as possible. The Freedom/Wing 0 should stay within the protection and just shoot. Freedom will be essential to destroying the ships in part 2, due to their high damage output and mobility.

Part 2, send teams of 2 to dismantle the 2 moving ships on the left and right first. Cyclops can and be used to destroy all the thrusters of the ship, by standing between the bridge and the cannon in the middle. After that, it's just the main ship left.
Quote:

EX7 - REGZ

Team setup:
4 Psycho

Parts:
Newtype Arousal

Items:
Cyclops. Lots and lots of cyclops.

Part 1. All Psychos rise to the top, stick together, and shoot. Clear within 4 minutes.

Part 2. Separate into 2 groups, take the left and right moving ships. Cyclops the thrusters if possible with the method said above. Don't bother aiming for the optimum place to save cyclops if it is hard to reach since you need all the time you can get. 2 cyclops for 1 ship is acceptable.

Next, move to the center ship. Have 3 Psychos do shooting and luring of the MS. Once the MS are lured together, Cyclops. Rinse and repeat. Save some cyclops for the final ship. Finally after getting the kill count, cyclop the thrusters of the last ship, and shoot it down.

Mission 9: Destroying the Fortress

Quote:

EX9 - Lohengrin 2nd-L Blue Frame

Team setup:
1 Psycho + Wing 0 + Wing 0/Freedom + 1 God/Wing 0 AR

Skill parts:
Vaccine for all

Items:
Cyclops

Basically this is one of the easiest EX missions out there. At the start move everyone to the empty lot of the map (near the edge). Psycho's main job is to tank while the rest of the team destroy. The quest requires you to kill 27 Powered-Serpents. IT IS A MUST TO KILL 10 IN THE FIRST PART. They usually spawn on to of the buildings, and it is the job of Wing 0 or Freedom to kill them. The rest concentrate on the 30 Leos required. There should be 8 Powered-Serpents available at the start, so you'll need to kill some Serpents to spawn the remaining 2 required. Try not to die too much. Once you've got the 10 Powered-Serpents required, move on to the 2nd part by killing the last Leo required.

If you have God, the God can clear the Leos, leaving the rest to concentrate on the serpents.

Part 2, move as a group, clockwise or anti-clockwise, else you'll die easily. Team-mates with cyclops should fly to the top to aim for the 4 circling orbs. 2 cyclops are a definite kill, but you should try to kill in a blast by critting them by facing the west direction (thanks Drkmerc for finding out). Psycho should concentrate on the turrets first, and the Powered-Serpents that spawn with their destruction. The rest of the team should move to the other towers till all are down, before destroying the rest of the turrets.

Finally, only Psycho and God should enter the fortress, unless you still have enough lives to spare. Psycho can tank past all the blasts inside, so keep your spec and just shoot/melee. God will have to time the blasts and use your spec when the blast occur to make yourself invincible (same goes to Wing 0/Freedom/Wing 0 AR that have lives to spare). The rest that are on their last life should have their Zero system activated and gattling from the outside of the fortress. If you do not have Zero system activated, just take some cyclops blast from the fortress. Finally, for Wing 0, it is possible for you to stand close enough to the walls of the fortress so that your Weapon 3 can shoot through the walls, and yet you remain unscathed from the blasts.
