friend of mines launcher isnt working. It will have the bottom area come up(blue button and the 4 buttons) and then the big area with the usual news/pics do not appear. He has tried un/reinstalling, checked firewall ran as admin(the most normal issues games have) and still nothing. It will not let him click on the blue button to start patching at all. any help?

GundamKirios 05-12-2009 10:09 AM

if its vista run it in compatability mode, either XP (sp2), or 2000. Also have you tried re-downloading it and reinstalling it?

funkmflex 05-12-2009 10:49 AM

yup have tried both(we are IT majors and know the basic fixes, we even tried messing with regestry to see if there was an issue but nothing there) thanks for the help tho!

weissritter 05-12-2009 10:51 AM

maybe try restarting? Also it could be regional setting to chinese TW help?

GundamKirios 05-12-2009 10:53 AM

Hmmm. Was it vista you're running? If its 64bit I know my girlfriends brother had to disable desktop composition for it to work.

funkmflex 05-12-2009 11:02 AM

yes we tried changing the regional setting ty for the idea, and gundam we will look into that, he is indeed running 64bit vista lol(eww)

LiLMewmew 05-12-2009 11:03 AM

Most games don't support 64bit right now. ._.;
(or so I have heard...)

funkmflex 05-12-2009 11:11 AM

lol or do you mean 64bit doesnt support anything??? lol. I myself am running it on a 64bit XP machine....I just like to blame vista :P

GundamKirios 05-12-2009 11:13 AM

I hate vista even though I have it on my laptop, it just seems as though the compatability and speed decreased so much since XP sp2. I don't have a clue why but disabling the desktop composition seems to fix some compatability problems. Then again some games just aren't supported by Vista 64. I'm sure Mew means 64 Vista.

funkmflex 05-12-2009 11:14 AM

ya, I read that D.C. wont let some apps run because they do not support the 3d style of vista

GundamKirios 05-12-2009 11:21 AM

That sounds about right funk.

funkmflex 05-12-2009 01:37 PM

well tried disabling that and nothing again. O well Ill tell him he just cant play or to get a better OS lol

GundamKirios 05-12-2009 02:24 PM

haha yeah do it. I'll try to get the settings my girlfriends brother has and I'll post them as soon as I can.

funkmflex 05-12-2009 04:38 PM

ok tyvm gundam

GundamKirios 05-13-2009 06:15 AM

Ok he said you need to run it XP sp2, disable desktop composition, disable visual themes and make sure that account control is turned off. Thats what he needed to do to get it to start. I only spoke to him for a minute so if you need more info let me know.

einSyndication 05-13-2009 06:26 AM

At the very least, yes, you should most definitely need to run it as an administrator if UAC is on, considering all the crazy things GameGuard likes to do in the background.

GundamKirios 05-13-2009 06:39 AM

Also I know A really stupid vista 64 issue where sometimes it doesn't allow programmes to change files in the program files folder so try installing it to the c: drives main directory.

Zakerii 05-16-2009 08:45 PM

Yo, I had SDGO working initially, and after closing it earlier today and turning it on later, it fails to work. To be specific, the launcher still works, but whenever I hit that blue button to play it loads Gameguard and everything, but then a window pops up saying there's a client failure. Bam, no game loading for me. I've tried restarting my PC and setting SDGO in compatibility mode, and since it's already been running smoothly before (although always being on top makes tabbing pointless, which hurts the usefulness of windowed mode) I'm not sure if it's an issue with my 32-bit Vista OS. I certainly hope not.

Any suggestions? ):

Reinstall? :py33:
