Although the Mark of Genocide isn't the greatest buff, people will expect you to have it maxed anyway, and might kick you out of parties (if you don't have it maxed). Crit is still useful for any class though, especially since if a healer can get a heal crit on you, it'll heal you for double than it is normally worth.
I wish I didn't max poison lols.
There's actually a veery big difference between level 1 and level 5 Poisoning Weapon because it's a DOT skill. For example:
Having 100 STR
and level 1
poisoning weapon would inflict 10HP every 2s
. If it lasts for 30 seconds, it would be 150 overall damage
Having 100 STR
and level 5
poisoning weapon would inflict 15HP every 2s
. Lasting 30 seconds would be a 225 overall damage
, which makes a notable difference.
And if you are in the case of fighting a boss in a dungeon, the damage would be multiplied by the time it takes you to kill it because the poison never disappears considering its probability to be casted is the 1/3 of the attacks you deal to the monster, which is super high.
Now Mark of Genocide, I consider this as the worst party buff in the game. It only gives you 2%+ critical rate at maximum level (5), which is just a waste of points. You can invest those 4 extra points (you need to have it at level 1 anyways as a pre-requisite skill) in another useful skill. It hurts just thinking about wasting 4 points for just 0.4% crit rate per point. And thinking in the case of the priest getting a critical heal is just the worst example because they have Aspersio, which gives them the next 3 Heals critical, so no need for MOG.
However, if you get kicked from parties because you don't have that skill, it's okay. Probably that party doesn't know what they are doing
