so, my apartment now has a default cable and high speed internet carrier through the apartment complex. We are running a 45mbps line for 2 complexes and about 12 in one and... um, i know the other goes from a-g at least...
so atleast about 20 apartment buildings, 11 apartments per building.

they assured me that this will be good enough for gaming...

at 3:20am, my connection is:

effffffing fail, and my comcast line is down because they probably cut the line again because they dont want any outside cable companies in here

I'd rather stick with my comcast 8mbps(i think) personal line

.03 upload isn't good enough for even basic things.
That's pretty damn bad.

Why are they saying you can't use an outside company? That's more motive for someone to move out.

ooh, just wait until you see the next speedtest i'm running right now... it's taking forever just to get the ping...

granted, i'm loading a youtube video.. it's just over 4 minutes long... after 10 minutes now, it's only loaded 1/5th of the video.....

i have an egg timer going set for 30 minutes, im gonna laugh my ass off when the timer goes off and it's still not finished!

20 minutes down in the video loading... it still has a minute left to load, the egg timer may win this one.
video wins...

it loaded in about 24-25 minutes

Wow... even freaking... Zimbabwe probably has faster internet than that! Is it because the one line is shared through all users in the complex or is the cable itself in an absolute shit state of disrepair?

dunno, it's back to it's usual speed now but i was just on the phone with them earlier today about the speed because in my opinion .6mbps download and .2mbps upload with anywhere from 800-2500ms ping is not high speed internet.

it appears that my net's speed is more unstable than my sisters relationships (ooh, she broke up with her wonderful (seriously) boyfriend for the 3rd time since the 12th for the same guy who crushed her....)

my current speed at the time of starting to write this

wow.. upload speed higher than download speed... that's a new one.. and this is the lowest ping i've ever seen, but still not high speed in my opinion at all
i miss my comcast line

i could download between 1megabyte per second to 1.5megabytes per second on good torrents and mirrors.... and upload up to 300kb/s

now im stuck with a cap at like 60mbps, 100 if i'm extremely lucky and upload at 15kb/s

speedtest.net comes up with .17, but the most my internet will download is about 49kb/s

AND i found out why it was so slow.

They called me about my complaint report and told me that i was on Bandwidth Restriction because i had a prolonged download at a high speed...

I was downloading the free trial version of Adobe Audition, If their internet speeds werent piss poor, it wouldnt be prolonged... but i had only been downloading the file for 15 minutes before it dropped...

effing cheap ass internet company and apartment complex.
