Lmao so true! XD
OMG, me and my parents used to have the biggest arguments when I brought home a B and not an A (my parents didn't care for '+' and '-' unless it was a B-. I finally broke them down when I purposely decided to get bad grades (C's and D's). It took several months for them to get used to the fact that I'm not perfect and I can't accomplish their straight A's all the time "dream".
Now my parents are like, "anything that is considered passing is acceptable....an F is not acceptable! But you can have D's, as long as you pass!". When I started college I had a 4.0 average....but my grades plummeted because of depression, teacher BS, and other BS that follows me around in life. Thank goodness for college policy of not discussing anything with parents, otherwise I'd have my car & laptop taken away T~T;;
Anyways -- the reason why I quit trying my hardest was because even when I won international awards, president's educational awards, even when I took college while in high school and STILL held a part-time job....it was never enough for my parents. The day I got those prestigious awards, my mother's attention was turned to the #1 ranked high school student and went, "oh look at __________, he won $92,000 free scholarship to any college...if only you'd stop being lazy and tried harder!". Now that was a major, "Ouch!".
I was #15 in the entire school btw. There were too many people vying for valedictorian @__@;; It was a tough race!
