-Sighs and looks at the time- I've been up
since 4 AM my time, after going to bed at 11 PM.
Can't even go back to sleep now because I have
school in an hour.
-Drowsy, can't focus-

Stupid dreams, keeping me up at night. >=(
I haven't had a decent nights sleep in so
long because I have continuous nightmares
as soon as I drift off. I thought sleeping is supposed
to be peaceful, and relaxing.
GTFO NIGHTMARES!
I'm tired of you y.y
Let me have one night. Just one night of decent sleep

-Looks at Melatonin-
That's probably my problem right there.
Bad moods in the morning, forces you to try to sleep, and
then you're awoken by something as stupid as a dream.
Then when you can't get back to sleep, you feel like biting someone's head off y.y

Ignore the nightmare and continue to sleep.
When I'm having nightmares, I force myself to think of something positive, and usually that works.

It's not actually thoughts that put me in bad moods.
I'm a pretty optimistic person lately. Just in my dreams
it recalls things that I've set aside and tried to
pass off.
Melatonin puts me in a bad mood, but it seems
like it's the only type of sleeping medication that
will help me sleep. x.x;
I have a lot of trouble sleeping.
Melatonin also is the reasons for the
dreams, too. Well, most likely. Either that
or everything that's been on my mind is catching
up to me lol.
Any suggestions on good sleeping pills
besides Melatonin, anyone? xD

If your melatonin is interfering with your sleep that much, stop taking them? Ive had really bad nightmares too, and some are just terrifying enough to make me not want to go back to sleep ever again, but its one of those things that cant really be helped. I think everyone will get them, some more than others, but try to go to bed with a clear head and if you're having recurring nightmares over the same subject matter, try not to think about that anymore since dreams sometimes dig up stuff in your subconscience and plays them for you like a movie when you're asleep.

I have been having daily nightmares as well. Mystical happenings that relate to my life. Meeting people that I have never seen before...

Try reading before you sleep. Read your favorite yaoi book or a very boring one. That always gets me to sleep xD Of course, you have to stop the melatonin. ):

If that doesn't work, you have to really, REALLY set your problems aside. As in you actually forget them.
Everyone knows that dreams are connected to your thoughts, so clear up your mind and let your mind flow away.

The Melatonin I only really used to help me fall asleep. I have tons of trouble getting myself to fall asleep.
But yeah, I probably need to figure out a way to get my mind to ease up at night.
I have a bad habit of thinking of a lot of things at one time, and it gets jumbled around in my head. I should probably just take time to mellow out my mind, and see if that helps any. Reading books are always a plus, though. The only problem with that is that I LOVE to read, so it doesn't really make me tired.
Usually listening to the TV or voices will help me sleep, though.
:3 Habit because my dad use to sing me to sleep when I was a baby.
I'll try putting on some soft music tonight, see if maybe that helps any :3

I use to have a reoccurring dream of my house burning down and i would never get good sleep because i would wake up then go back to sleep, i'm not exactly sure how i surpassed this but it lasted for a good week i think you just need to outlast it.

Have you ever used music while you were sleeping? i listen to Yiruma music while I'm sleep it makes my sleeps comfortable and i feel refreshed in the morning even if i only had like 5 hours of sleep time + good dreams.

Tried last night. It didn't seem to help much. I listened to Kenny G. which is a really good saxophone artist. Soothing music and all. Tonight I'm going to try to listen to some Japanese music because all the songs I've heard are really soothing ;o

Melatonin is actually a natural chemical created by the body. While taking supplements of it (pills) can cause more REM sleep and more vivid dreams, it's highly unlikely that they are the source of your nightmares.

If you really need it that badly to fall asleep, maybe the problem is a little bit deeper than you think. You might wanna start out trying some valerian (I don't recommend the tea variety, it tastes nasty), which helps a large majority of people get to sleep.

I really like the Melatonin is pretty much natural already in the human body. What exactly is Valerian and how does it help induce sleep, if you happen to know?

What was your first nightmare?

Mine contained a curse..... Then all the nightmares that followed are tragic mixed with reality.

The dreams. They are so detailed and clear! It depicts a whole picture. Its actually lovely to be inside the tragedy

I actually just woke up from one right now.

or death of my family members. Sometimes it
even gets to the point to where I have reoccurring
dreams of losing people close to me, even though
they are very few. Tonight I had one about
going to sleep, waking up, and a guy is standing
over me with a knife. It seemed so realistic.
He ended up stabbing me over and over again.
When he stopped, I was running down the road
screaming for help. It seriously is strange that
I'm even having nightmares that have so much
violence.
