Default nTreev's lack of care.

Ok, honestly I'm po'd. Honestly, nTreev always seem to just mess up such a good job. And no, I'm not talking about the Hybrid Buffalo and Bunbuns that got "screwed over" when Flaming Fist came out.

I'm talking about the Foxes. nTreev never gives them or does them anything nice. With most lolboxes, nothing can be compounded for DA, and yes I realize the amount of Foxes is low, but still it's only fair to add that for them. They give the most powerful Fox skills (Other than Explosive Expert) piss-poor AC. And guess what? They have piss-poor to begin with. Explosive Expert, yeah, it's strong. But you can only place it an inch in front of you and the person has to get close enough for it to either home in on it or boom on it.

In PvP, they can't do much. They need all the DA they can get because well, they need it. And wait, they need HP, HV, LK, and AC as well. Maybe not so much HV and LK, but they still need it.

The new skills. What do they get? Two lolbuffs and a Poison skill. Now how2getskill? No one really knows where to get Poison Pouch, but we have a hunch it has to do with drilling. Yeah we know they can drill well because of naturally high DA, but that's still very unfair to give them what sounds like a good skill, but it has to be drilled. They should have made Flaming Fist a drill one. Have them Bunbuns drill for it lol.

/end rant (for now)

I think Foxes are just anti against anything pretty much.

Gas Mask: Skunk Pouch (Charm)
Lightning Rod: Electroshock (Magic)
Strong Will (or w/e that Third Job thing is): Entrancing Wink (Charm).

So I guess they've been like demoted to support. >.>''

Foxes have an advantage now in that Flaming Fist will miss them near 100% of the time. They were brutal during open beta, but all their skills since have absolutely sucked. Then again, pure third job buffalos haven't got much love either.

@Luckie: So FF won't hit them; what about UC, Quad, and Tetra?
Keep in mind they don't have any barriers.

Yeah, it's not fair that there's no way to avoid bunnies/hybrid buffs, especially tetra, since that will probably ko foxes.

Best way to put it:
Fox are lolmeat.
Unless the character has fail HV then the Fox I doubt is going to get through anytime soon. Since Powers, and Charms these days have higher HV than what it used to be. Lions are too fast for a Fox to counter.
And Mages have SoH and DB.

B> New skills for Foxes

This is why I'm a gunner fox. Then again, lions haven't gotten much love either after revo.

NTreev <3 Dragons and Bunnies too much.
Now with that GM_Grimm, they're starting to <3 Fat Sheeps...
No <3 for the rest of the classes, I presume...

Though Gunners did have their point of shining. Pretty much everyone has except maybe Soul Masters, Cats, and Foxes. I put Soul Masters because they really haven't shined yet, but hopefully with the new barriers they'll shine more. I don't really call the point where Cats got Sumo Suit a shine era. It didn't last long in my opinion.
And maybe I should add Pure Buffalo, but they were kinda in-charge when Tidal was recognized that it had some power. And then Sonic Slash.

EDIT: I don't think there has been a Fox GM yet. I know there has been Bunny, Buffalo, Dragon (DUH!), Sheep, Cat, and Raccoon. Not sure about Lion or not.

Back then... closed/beginning of open beta. With no 2nd jobs D:

but i agree... Foxes do get shafted alot. Sense types in general, while the already strong types get one godly attack after another. lol

Lol. it's the complete opposite of what im thinking.....foxes can get good hv to fight power types....they can debuff a charm to their doom....they can easily kill light mages.....not to mention their sudden attack skill can 1hko lions!!

It really depends on your equips.....foxes are the most versatile chars in the game! you just need to figure out what beats what

I miss those days. Foxes weren't popular because of some ego-fulfilling "I'ma switch chars every five hours" type thing. We were heroes. We gave hackers the finger (boss rooms), dug better, comped better, and if our skills happened to hit, they did superior damage for that time. Foxes reigned less of the competitive scene and more of the community scene. People weren't necessarily switching over to Foxes because of these advantages, but even if you weren't a Fox, you respected them. I never picked my Fox for these reasons, but as I played through beta, I learned that these were the reasons that Foxes were doing well, and they only made me like my class more.

Now, we can't really boss, you might as well ask the Cyber Hunter next to us to comp, you might as well drill yourself, and Thief Masters extend protection to you but just stand there and hope for--screw killing--just hitting something.

Sense has the stats for critting and blocking; Coons got anti-crit. No biggie, no biggie. Then, Bunnies got Guard. Okay....

I was still optimistic. After all, I had my imagination.

Awhile back, I thought it would be cool to have a magic-based Stone Strike for Thief Masters. Factors in DA and MA, accuracy based on LK, and there could be some Thief Master elemental buffs that allow you to turn the skill into a specific element for an allotted time, and using an additional elemental buff canceled the initial element. I wouldn't have even cared if the skill was no stronger than Shuriken Master and had 15 second cooldown. Just the idea of knowing that I had a skill that had over 70% chance of hitting (given the fact that it's usually not even 20%) would have been enough. I'd have shut up. I even gave the skill a name at that time--Ether Strike.

So, imagine my surprise when this patch hits us left field, shows that my idea wasn't so outlandish, but lands on a class who needs it the least. Support was a concept that should have been explored with Mages; now they're getting it. Why are we getting these Support buffs? Frankly, rather than them not being able to find a use for us, they just don't want to.

Also, add in this era where every non-Sense class seems to be providing some sort of damage protection or consequence. Sumo Suit, Guard, Super Hips, Bodyguard, Dark Barrier, Light Shield, Shield of Heaven, even the Blessings (to some extent). Buffalos will eventually get a reverse Beserk (whether it's useful remains to be seen), and Light Mages will eventually extend their protection to their partymates. Wind Mages will eventually teleport, Earth Mages will eventually cast Demi, Water Mages will eventually mass freeze, Lightning Mages already mass stun and can DoT well with speedy attacks, and Fire Mages get to fall back on the future of earth (which I hope will be good) or lightning (which is already pretty good). Gunners, with a little protection, still have their speed, and they even have an anti-anti-movement speed buff. Not to mention the ability (whether it's practical or not) to hit any monster in-game ignoring its resistances.

I'm not even concerned with whether or not the other classes are overpowered. I don't think they are. I think there are those on top at the moment, but each other class except for Thief Master, in some capacity, can compete in one way or another, in some aspect of this game. All we do is sit on the sidelines and provide party buffs so that everyone else can have fun ("Lightning Rod pls" "Gas Mask pls" "Aura plzzzzzzzzzz"). Rather than being overpowered, every other class is stepping their game up. Given the track record for skills that the Fox path has gotten recently, nothing is up to snuff.

But you guys go on and debate how your classes are or are not getting screwed over for three to four months at a time. I'll just sit here and eat my popcorn and look at the entertainment, because whether you say it or not, it's become commonplace thought that Foxes don't matter, and we will never see a thread that talks about how good the Fox side of things has it; instead, we'll get written off as being ungrateful for our "superior" drilling capabilities, when no one has had a real reason to stick a drill in the ground ever since Ultimate Equips came out.

Coming In September: "Buffalos and Sheep Are Overpowered" threads.

Another thing I noticed, before MT was, well yea. In the New 2nd Job Skills thread, all the other classes were getting like upgrades to skills Reverse-Berser (drop AP for more DP), Teleport, Mana Guard, Evolution "power-up", Faster Casting Speed (for Buffalo). Even Lions were getting Bombs as well. But they were getting a little screwed over with the "Increasing Light" skill. But a lightbulb on the wall lulz. But anyhow, while reading the Fox section, guess what they get.

Well here's one thing, it said that Fan of Knives pretty much would be the last attack skill Foxes would get. Foxes got more compounding skills (to do it on there own), item synthesis and et cetera. No more attacks? So is the Fox going to slip into the recesses not-often-played-class like the Page in MapleStory?
"Play at your own risk."
"Foxes fail at PvP."
"I have one but she just comps stuff for me."
"I can't believe Foxes were on top of the food chain. It must have been like some programming glitch or something. Good thing they fixed it. x]"

If they get those skills I have a feeling that stuff in the quotation marks wouldn't be exactly what you would hear, but basically a general outlook.
DA Foxes are not a dying art. Foxes are a dying art.

What happens if you were never interested in PvP in the first place? And if this were true, there'd be at least one person here or on MT ranting about how overpowered Foxes are. It'd take up 1% of the class rants, mind you, but it would exist.
