Besides, they're sticking to the novel fairly well. They've had to cut some very minor content, and there have been a couple of continuity issues, but really it's been pretty okay. When a novel is written completely in first-person perspective, how the hell do you think they're going to transfer it to an anime? They'd have to treat the audience like mind readers and play out all the sounds going on in his head if you wanted it to be exactly like the novel.
