As for the clothing, they give no stats, but when you put in newer clothing, you get a 10% Pang bonus for each new article. Wings, hair dyes, etc are all included in this too, so having a new top, bottom, shoes, gloves, glasses, head piece, ribbons (in Kooh's case), wings, face accessory (blush and stuff), and hair dye would be... 110% bonus.

Wow I am going to face a tough decision to either pick this up or try the PC version...anyone have any idea which one would be more enjoyable for a beginner?

The PSP version is more "newbie" friendly - it is far easier than the PC version, and much more forgiving too. (ie. Bigger Pangya bar, bigger hole, easier greens, etc)
