Question about Nell!

Is s/he a guy or a girl?

Depends which one do you want to follow...

Korea's Nell is released as a boy, while US's Pangya is released as a girl. I just went on Pangya yesterday and even GM Takeda says that Nell's a girl, and most of the community seems set on calling Nell a girl too. o.o/

Personally I went with US server since I'm playing there, and Nell is less ridiculous that way. o^o/

Im just wondering if anyone ever bothered to read his profile. Along with the VN.

It doesnt make much common sense to understand all those really o3o.
Also MOST OF THE TIME. GM's have no clue about these stuff. THAT or theyre just playing along.

Yeah... D: But yours is mostly on the Korea side though. I meant the US side of things. =D And about the VN, don't forget it's being translated by SGI. That means the Japanese words means jack in the US server.

And about the GM... Note that GMs aren't one kind of species and one mind alone. They have different personalities, and I'm sure most of the community are aware that Nell is a boy in Korea. They even said so themselves in Ntreev Chat. "In US Pangya, Nell's a girl". And people agreed on it. It just depends which Nell you want to put in your head. Korea? Or US?

But... I'll put my analysis on the VN in this.

I used to think like that... but that would be taking things out of context.

Going back to the Visual Novel... Notice how the novel keep saying "her". Let me just put a few quotes here.

Chapter 2:

Quote:

Narrator: The meowing was just as monotonous as the girl's speech. Her answer sounded as she learned how to talk from a textbook. Something didn't seem right about her, at least to the classmate.

Quote:

Brie: Perfect! She perfectly applied the 3rd Grade Abbot Element! And she displayed excellent use of foreshadowing for future activities; making people feel like they are already good friends with her... Furthermore, what exquisite use of a cat! Unless the Narrator fails to say someone is next to Brie, Brie would call Nell a "he" instead of a "she". But that's not all of the reason why I quoted that. Notice how the classmate also thinks there's something wrong about Nell.

Chapter 5:

Quote:

Kaz: *He reached out to tap on her shoulder but he felt a shiver as he got close*
Karen: No! Stay away from her!
Kaz: *reacted to the feeling as he drew up on his blade*

There's DEFINETLY something unusual about Nell. And I do not think it's "BECAUSE NELL IS A BOY LOL". Note the shiver.

Chapter 6:

I think that question about Cadie is explained in Chapter 6. But there IS something unusual about Nell, as Kaz mentioned.

Chapter 7:

Brie: It's probably better to tell you now and get it over with. Long ago, when the Demon King was sealed off, his strength was weakened and he left his heart behind. The evil power of the Demon King has been gathering around it's heart. The heart began to beat recently and it took human form, like the kid you met earlier.
Nuri: Is the demon King coming back?
Brie: Don't worry about that. We're searching for the other portion of his heart to prevent that from happening. The kid is also learning Pangya which will naturally weaken and seal the evil power. However... The other half of the heart may have started to beat.
Nuri: That's not good, is it?
Brie: Calm down, Nuri! That's exactly why we're searching for it!
Nuri: That answers the question about the girl... How about the Fragments of Time?
Brie: Huh? *startled by the question, then looked at Nuri trying to hold back laughter* Haha... Wow, you are just...
Nuri: Wait, what?
Nuri: Don't worry about it. You may have to train harder to see what's beyond the surface of things.

The end of the Chapter. o.o/ Now, notice how all Brie ever said was "Nell is learning Pangya which will weaken the seal of the evil power." and "the heart took on a human form". From how I interpret "To see what's beyond the surface of things", I think what Brie meant was "She's more than what meets the eye".

Nuri still sees her like some ordinary girl who's playing Pangya just like the rest of the crew, but the classmate, Kaz, and Karen knows she is something MORE than that. You would think that the reason Kaz drew up his blade is because the other heart is there, but remember that Kaz got a SHIVER instead of something ATTRACTING to him. Another reason could be that Nell would seal the dark power, but wouldn't Kaz go after Brie, Nuri, or Hana since they're MUCH more trained compared to Nell?

But then again, you could be right all along and I might be over-analyzing things. Only time could tell I guess, Nii nii.
