Love Plus “Adultery” Nearly Ends in Divorce

Later she would go so far as to convene her lady friends together to work out what to do. They played the game, and thought little of it until coming upon Nene, whom they judged a real threat to the couple’s marriage.

Soon they judged the husband guilty of adultery with the game, and took away his DS to sell, with the wife keeping the cash. He was subsequently force to promise to pay for a New Year’s vacation in order to make amends.

He states he is just glad she did not divorce him.

The wife’s friends were spurred into action by the threatening prospect of losing their breadwinners to 2D schoolgirls, and initiated searches, catching three husbands engaed in this “adultery.”

One, it is said, meekly admitted the charges and handed over the game.

Another lost the game and had his pocket money reduced by his wife.

The other man was actually caught red-handed “kissing” his girl, and had his ROM destroyed on the spot, and was banned from the bedroom to boot.

The unfortunate narrator parts by wishing all those secretly playing Love Plus the best of luck.

So....the wives were afraid of losing their breadwinners (who they depend on to survive).....so threatening him and taking his money/DS away was the way to go?

.......Uhkay.....not to mention the other punishments.....

How could you lose your hubby over a fictional character? If it was a Persocom from Chobits then maybe....but wth?

I've always found that Anime to be spot on when it comes to the general idea of our distant future.
Japan would easily fall for the Perfect Wife/Perfect Husband, as the rate of singles is always high due to the greedy demands of women.

But you see, introspection can't be accomplished because they're control freaks and the problem never resides within them (however, it's always outside sources).

Can't the same argument be used against men watching pron with their overreacting/insecure/"I OWN YOU" counterparts? Maybe something's "missing" and they need that game/video to fill it (since their wife won't)? I think it has something to do with "bargaining power."

Poor trapped men, no freedom (lol).

You have to make that character your girlfriend first, which may take some time.

Then after that, you have to master skin-ship before you can finally land that kiss. =/

This was just retarded, that's the only thing I can call it. I mean for god's sake, referring to their husbands not as loved ones or spouses, but solely as breadwinners. No wonder the guys are playing dating sims, I don't blame them at all. If I was married and my wife reacted that way I would have left her too because that response is just idiotic and disproportionate to the problem. A more reasoned reaction and response I could have understood, but at the very least, you're not taking my DS away, and if my choice is between selling it or getting a divorce, you can be damn sure I'm keeping the money from the sell of my game system.
