The U.S. government's DARPA (Defense Advanced Research Project Agency) has created a cat-like robot capable of outrunning Olympic champion and fastest man alive Usain Bolt.

The robot, developed and tested by Boston Dynamics, is dubbed the Cheetah, which we really hope stands for Chasing Hunting Exterminating Eradicating Terminating Android Holy s**t machine.

"DARPA states on its website that it hopes to use the Cheetah robot in emergency responses, humanitarian missions and other defense missions," according to CBS News.

As you can see from the DARPA video below, its design is reminiscent of the cat-like Decepticon named Ravage from Transformers.

When the day comes that synthetic humans, androids, and cyborgs roam the cities, you will rue this day.

Did anyone else want the thing to flip itself over as it ran?

I was kind of waiting for it to just launch itself because it was moving so fast.
