MMORPG Convention: Would you attend?
If there were an MMORPG convention, akin to Anime Expo, Fanimecon, Otakon, etc, would you attend? This is assuming pricing is along the same lines ($35-60 for a 3-4 day pass, you find your own lodging and transportation). The convention would be held in San Jose, California, USA.

The poll doesn't accurately reflect my situation.
-Adds in "depending to location"-

If I could ever find the money, you could count me in on it.

I'd totally attend.
That is, if I won the lottery before fall 2009, and therefore had the money to afford a plane ticket. ;_;

I would love to go, but the location and the fact that its a con, will cut into my savings that im accumulating for another special event.

I think everyone's thinking... WAY too big.
There's no way we can get to the size, reach, or content a huge convention like AX has. It'll have to start off small and work its way up. Sponsors aren't just going to pour money into an event they've never heard of - so the bulk of the money to put the event on will come from ticketing/local advertisements.
... the goal would be to eventually become something like that, heh .__.

Maybe for starters, try doing panels at big conventions? It would be a smaller-scale project and would give you a bit of a feel of what it would be like to do a full-out convention. Just a thought.
