Tlunia client

okay, so I just downloaded the lunia client (or so i think... I can't read traditional). I picked the yellow floppy disk thing no.1. So I tried to open the lunia client, but it says failure to initialize patcher and the chinese words show up as ??s

does anyone know what to do? thanks in advance.

You should install East Asian Languages for your computer if you haven't already.

If you are using Windows XP, you may need to use Applocale to run the program in its native language. (East Asian Languages must be installed first)

If you done both and it still fails, the patcher should still display the error message, but this time in Taiwanese and not as question marks. (Simply take a picture at that point, and someone can read the error for you)

Ok i just tried opening the client also and got the same error.

I supposed its because tlunia is down for mainteinance right now. You'll have to wait untill 1630 gmt+8 when the mainteinance is complete.

"Stupid" Vista, is even better.

But you still need East Asian Language packs, which is in Control Panel/Regional and Lanauage Settings/Keyboards and Lanaguages Tab.
As for Applocale, Vista don't need it.

And login works, so a maintenance is out of the question.

O.o login works? I can't even start the client now. Was fine a few hours ago.
Anyway the error message that i got doesnt say much. Just said that there is a serious error and would like us to report the error.

Common Problem: Client File is damaged or missing.
Cure: Reinstall the Client or a File check

sorry for bumping, but it still doesn't work. I got eastern languages now, but the thing doesn't even appear anymore. it just says cannot open patcher. so i tried uninstalling it. but appearantly i can't delete some of it. and one thing is 49.2GB. anyway to fix?

also, which one should i download? because i picked the first yellow one.

i know. there's some text doc that's 49.2G. weird. and i can't delete it.

Uh-oh.

Try logging into a different account and trying to delete it. If that doesn't work, attach your hard drive to another computer and delete. If you are too lazy/don't want to do that, get a Linux LiveCD or something and delete it from that.

(Maybe DOS rescue disks can help here too but I'm not sure how to use them)

But if you have huge files randomly appearing. I highly reccomend you reformat.

1. Do a chkdsk first.
Start
Run
cmd
chkdsk C:\ /F (Use other letters if you did not install on C
Answer Yes and reboot if a question appears.

2. Use unlocker to delete it. http://ccollomb.free.fr/unlocker/

3. Could be a rights/permission issue.
Are you logging in as an administrator or a normal user.
What is the exact error message did you get?
If it says access is denied do the steps below if you're logged in as the administrator. (I'm not sure about vista, it should be almost the same)
Right click on your Lunia folder eg. C:\cdcgames\Lunia\
Click Properties
Select Security Tab
Click Advanced
Uncheck "Inherit from parent..."
If prompted with a message click on Copy.
Click Apply
Select Owner Tab
Click on your Username
Check "Replace owner...."
Click Ok
(You should be back at the properties windows with the security tab after the step above)
Select your Username
Check "Allow Full Control"
Click Advanced
Check "Replace child...."
Click Ok
Click Ok
Try deleting.

anyway, I downloaded the client again, and this time it works... but everything appears in ???s and I have eastern asian languages. and Although the client starts, the game doesn't... any advice? and I uninstalled glunia... is there any other way to change the stuff to english?

Did you set your locale to Chinese (Taiwan) or use Applocale?

Personally for me both worked, but Applocale worked better. Even when I had Chinese locales the launcher was in gibberish, (Like the buttons on the launcher, the webpage and news was fine) although there were no problems in the game. When I started using Applocale I had no problems at all.

As for changing stuff to English, you could try to find kag's locales lying around somewhere. I've never used them, but I hear they are good.
