MyLunia PvP Event?

Ello. This is Ayumi.

Tests, my test account, has an orange name. As you can see. This is because Tests is in the newly created PvP Legends usergroup. What does this mean? That, if possible, MyLunia will host a PvP event! This usergroup does have certain perks, but I'm pretty sure most will compete simply for the glory.

I wish to do this, and I do have a few ideas, but I want to know what the PvP community thinks first. There are going to be a few problems (as in determining who won the matches). Feel free to give your input :). If most people think this is a good idea, it will begin soon. It'll be something like this:

(random names, don't whine)

Everyone in each bracket will fight, then the winners will proceed. I'm pretty sure most of you know how this goes, but just in case...

Afterwards, those who won previously will advance. Those in the same brackets will battle.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6.../bracketx2.gif

The winner, once again, will advance. Those who advance will fight each other.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6.../bracketx3.gif

The last two will then battle each other.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6.../bracketx4.gif

The winner, well, wins the tournament.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6.../bracketx5.gif

I didn't put the name of a winner because I know someone would of went "o no he wuldnt of one da fite i swar!!!!".

Anyways, thats it. Leave comments/ideas/etc :)!

I would really like something like this to happen but I can't see how one tournament would work seeing as the level of the participants can very like 30 levels off and clearly one dfist from a level 50 to a level 30 is nearly if not all of his life. What we can do is host two separate tournaments: one for high levels and one for low levels.

sounds like a good idea but problems would probably arise on matches eventually, like some ppl claiming their opponents cheated, there is no way to prove thats true or false. there would need to be some kind of a referee watching to guarantee the match is fair.

Mmmhm, more work, but I guess its necessary.

Referee, eh. Don't know anyone who'd be willing to be a ref. I would do it, but I really don't know the first thing about PvPing. I never got into it.

For referring you would need another mod to do it as well because matches can only go by 1v1, 2v2, 3v3, or 3v4 so yeah. We would go by the tournament rules but no one really knows them that well. However, obvious rules can be odded such as eirs can't do the infinite wall combo for over 20 hits or something.

Borkborkbork 12-03-2007 03:02 PM

I'd need the assistance of an experienced PvPer to make in-depth rules.

Lagg 12-03-2007 03:25 PM

for rules, maybe the same ones used for gngwc can be applied here

evilxshadow 12-03-2007 03:33 PM

great idea! i'd like to join if it ever works out.

BronzeMech 12-03-2007 03:35 PM

I'd like to join as well, if you get this thing set up

Gota 12-03-2007 03:41 PM

Theosis on there twice, Disqualified!!!!!!

/end whine

yeah, as someone stated high lvl, low lvl need to be separated. Is the stage going to be a set one or the 2 players decide?

MyRetribution 12-03-2007 03:43 PM

Ah beautiful, we would need level brackets for sure, and definitively rules. I guess a ban on auto-step and windmill? who knows..

Just ask me if you want me to set up a bracket or need any help, I would be glad to put some shiz together.

Ayumi, if you have any questions on PvPing, just PM me... they isn't much that I wouldn't know about the rules... Also, we should definetly go by tournament rules.

...And no use of equipment. The stats difference between poorly equipped players and godly equipped players is... not ignorable.

I disagree, equipment suits a players playing-style (Vit equips, Str equips, Dex equips) and people who spend time to get the "good" equipment should be able to utilize it.

I usually have a 200-500 hit point disparity with the people I fight as Ralin. That's about 20-40 melee hits, or half to 3/4 of a d-fist. How is that fair?

What you say works in GNGWC, where the contestants are given thousands up thousands of G, but if certain players are poor or just don't feel like getting godly gear here, they'll be at a huge disadvantage.

Seraph 12-03-2007 04:11 PM

im all for it :)

Those regulations are for the preliminaries where players are selected to go to L.A. They're not necessarily the rules for the actual fight.

Regarding the rules, I think they should be posted here as soon as a rough draft so players can debate about the fairness of the rules.

tommy00X 12-03-2007 04:14 PM

i'll join........

Godbot3000 12-03-2007 04:17 PM

Regional and prelim rules: http://global.lunia.com/gngwc/regulations.asp

Final rules: http://www.gngwc.com/en/wc_games/lunia_rule.php

The rules for the finals are not descriptive at all >.>

You do have a good point, I just feel if somebody works hard for that equip, they should be able to use it.

But I guess we are measuring skill, not money making.

Any other opinions?
