i feel like i need to say this

some people i party with say they tried the right side of rock room but still die
the thing is
some people just have bad hand-eye coordination
just because you go to the right side does not automatically mean you're safe
you still have to dodge rocks
my guide is only giving the tip to go to right side, since i personally find it easiest to dodge there
i'm sorry, but it will not make you a better dodger
i'm not going to be in rock room with you to tell you, "that rock is accelerating faster than the other one" or "travel alongside that rock and then diagonal to the portal"
it's up to you to practice and get better

Step, I've soloed myth 2 twice. Both bosses were talman kings, and everytime I got sent to the room of ordeal I did it exactly as you did in the video. But when I fought Minotaur the room of ordeal was way different. Does the room of ordeal change with each boss? Because the rocks patterns weren't the same at all.

room of ordeal isn't dependent on boss from what i've observed
i've gotten the same pattern across all bosses
AND different patterns with the same boss

what's the difference between the line of circles and the push attack? (especially in sound)

Foriel does like 2-3 push attacks in a row then something fancy x1-3. I still got problems with timing...

When he does the line of circles, he plays the harp very lightly, and when he is going to push, he does it harder and the sound should be faster and louder. You shouldn't really hug him anyway, he always does the push after he summon the bubbles.

Ummm one more thing about the rock room:
Normal speed rocks - easy
Fast rock room - can't do it yet?

Any advice upon fast rock room?
The youtube video is with normal speed - easy to do....

sometimes during a run, a party member would die in rock room and say it's too fast
then when i go in, it's easy
so it depends on the individual and how well you can dodge
when it comes down to it, there's really no advice i can give except practice

There are some rock rooms that are a bit trickier from what I've seen. Like, one where the one a little distance from the right wall moves slowly, but the one hugging the right wall moves quickly. If I dodged the first rock by going all the way to the right, that fast rock will nail me (however, one finger is ALWAYS on my Light shield skill/potion for such occasion)

Though I did learn that moving upwards helps because the fast rock has less time to close the gap.

Also, does anyone notice that sometimes the entire line of rocks falls simultaneously? That scared me and my brother once or twice o__O (Light Shield ftw)

In the yuki solo foriel video there is a different tactic than in room of ordeal video. The main difference is that the person should go almost to the top right of the map. That requiers memorising the pattern (which is easy: right left right left right left etc) but in advantage gives better chances at avoiding the fastest rock.

Hugging the right wall makes you die after the second to fastest - no one written it anywhere (my humble personal death count + 1). It is seen in the video that char makes a slight move - so the acutal pattern should be right left right middle left...

Another tip that no one wrote is:
People complain their chars move to slowly - but in fact it is the reaction time that is the problem - char moves around 0.5 sec after pressing the key. So why not use it as advantage - pressing the key while the rock is still beside you makes you move right after the rock has fallen. It is kinda scary at the beginning - if you moved instanteously you'd run into the rock - that's why most beginners don't use that another split second to their advantage.

Another thing is that with the first rock (and you hugging right) you actually can move up to the desired spot - it is obvious, isn't it? Not certainly - I remember I was so scared of touching the rocks that even moving up-down was scary.

After today's 9 flawless rock rooms I've decided there is nothing more to learn except testing bcb (does it really protects?)

Learning took me around 10 deaths past last 2 months, but all was well and forgiven.

It's more of a hand-eye coordination thing to be honest, the way to dodge them are the same all the time (to me, after XXX runs with ordeal), it's just that the timing of when to move that could be different sometimes.

The first thing I do when I go into the room is to move to the furthest right side, a rock will come down a bit to my left.
Then a rock will come down next to the wall on the right side.
Another one will come down soon after the previous one, I might move a bit to the left depending on the size of it.
A rock will then come down on where I'm standing, I will move next to the wall.

And repeat.

Sidenote: invincible frames work, as long as you time it correctly and it lasts through the whole rock.

well i never said you should memorize patterns
i would actually recommend against it
if a new pattern comes up, what are you gonna do?
not to mention ordeal room doesn't only appear in myth2; it's in cave of chaos 11-20 and myth3+
the only real way to get better is to practice and improve your hand-eye coordination

I agree that you should not memorize patterns, I'm just stating what I do when I'm in. Even with the patterns a person might still be unable to do it because they have bad hand-eye coordination, due to the different speed and size of the rocks.

Well, I guess you could always go practice in L1-1 and try to sneak pass the little cracks between the rocks.

Uhm, did anyone notice there is a small diamond-shaped safe spot in front of Foriel when he uses the long casting swirl skill? It's slightly ahead of him and kinda small.

yes, but i left that out since it's not a very practical way to dodge the attack
