Do any of you know if the required level of the item affects the chances of its success?

I broke a lot of my level 18 equips, but got a level 6 pair of pants to +9 without catalysts. O_o

well its def gonna matter. just look at how many fortifcation stones it takes to upgrade and youll kno how easy or hard it will be to upgrade.
1 fortification stone: 1st degree(lvls 1-10) Should be safe from destruction at like up to +5
2 fortification stones: 2nd degree(lvls 10-20), Safe up to +4 without destruction
4 fortification stones: 3rd degree(lvls 21-30), Safe up to +3 without destruction

and so on. armor as i kno should go up to around 8th degree max. so yea, lvl/degree does matter

Cough, I've broken some thing going from +2 to +3, and I heard someone else say that they broke something at +2.

Some info on light fortification:
It can break at +1
You have to use a certain jewel after another
If you use a dimly shining to fortify then you have to use a shining to fortify again

One of the guys in my guild said he broke something at +1 for fortification.

No, it was regular, I think. But don't ask me, ask him.

Regular has a 100% of not breaking in the first 3 slots.
It's impossible for him to break it on 1st slot in regular while you can break on any slot in light.

the craft book is a drop. but you need to make all 9 stones to make it

This should be updated. Things like +4 Fort being safe is wrong.

When was level 4 fort safe? Level 1 and 2 have a 90 ish% chance of suceeding for me.

I'm just saying fortificate to level 4 if you want to play it safe.

Going to from +3 to +4 can break but I'm just recomending to go +4 from my experience.

I DESTROYED an orange chest equip going +3... only 2nddegree aswell.
so I believe the more rare the equip, the more chance it has to fail / be destroyed aswell.

I use no more than 2 catalysts per go after +4, it gives just enough success chance to mean something without significantly increasing destruction chance on failure.
It worked with 1 of my legendary slime swords up to +8, stoped there because my spare sword was destroyed trying for +9.
I don't think I'll try light fortification or grading. That darn scholar gave me -5 strength on one of my daru rings T_T

Its actually 1-3 wont break, and 4-9 would. Just a reminder.

Ah. That's why my +3 armor suddenly broke when I upgraded it -_-
