Default What if Lunia was Point-and-Click and 2D?

Imagine, for a moment, a world in which Lunia is entirely controlled by your left and right buttons on your mouse and was entirely 2D (yes, Lunia is 3D. `-`).

If you could still edit the client, I wouldn't mind so much.
Because 2d images are far easier then working with 3d meshes.

As long as the competitiveness is still there, I wont really care. Gear wise, I cant recall how many people has +15/shined on all eq when our fort system is utter crap. Stage wise, as long as Im out-geared by others I dont really care. That's why I like myth, the other *** just need to get one more myth eq and voodooodoo the cs stats doesn't matter anymore.

But Im guessing 2d will kill the interest of pvpers .

Hmm, can't say but I guess it depends on the type of genre and etc. It really depends on preferences and the game mechanics itself.

For sure, Lunia as it is right now couldn't work in 2d at all. At least not for PvP, the sprites would have to be miniature in size in order for the map to be large enough to make the absence of a block button remotely playable as a fighter.

Lunia is 3d models on a 2d backdrop, it's the same concept. You move on a flat plain and are limited to more or less 8 directions. Survival project is just a more simplistic version of Lunia, lacking the classes, skills and stories. Instead it's all mini-games and the like which I do find fun and I would like Lunia to have more of.

SP had a block button~

no... survival project was stated 2d on 3d background.. u could not zoom into the char <-- like maplestory basically
lunia actually has a feature where u can rotate ur char in the cash shop
survival project didn't have that there was only 8 frames depending on which direction u faced that's the one it uses

As I said, Lunia has 3d models on a 2d backdrop. All you're doing is confirming that. The act of switching from 3d to 2d in games usually implies the alteration of multiple directions, at least as far as fighters go.

If you want to just make Lunia have 2d sprites instead of 3d models, that's fine. The game would more or less play exactly the same, though it would be annoying to create so many sprites. My assumption on the thread was that the game would discard the previous implications of 8 directions, putting them instead as right and left, jump and crouch as in most games. Perhaps even a side scroller beat em type of perspective. I gathered this assumption from the random FF sprites he used in his screenshot.

But considering certain factors, Survival Project would be the best match as 2d Lunia.

Agreed, SP and its mini games (snowball, card upgrades and NPC fighters), though Lunia is more RPG-ish while SP was more real-time oriented and less storywise.
