What Are You Reading?

Title.

A lot of people don't have time to read books nowadays, but if you are, list it here. Recommend it if it's good. ;o

I'm currently reading The Kitchen God's Wife by Amy Tan...it's good so far. A bit depressing, but a book that makes you feel things is worth it.

Do Magazine's count?
I'm on page 12 of this month's Game Informer. ;)

Nah, but in all seriousness. Last book I completed
was Pendragon: The Lost City of Faar. By DJ Machale.
Awesome if you're into time and world travel stuff.

BatgirlZKE 07-29-2008 01:35 PM

Yay Guiles! :) It's so hard to find anyone that actually reads books for fun. I'm already up to 100 books this year and I'm aiming for 200. I don't read as much as I used to (thanks to the internet) but I still read every chance I get.

Right now I am reading Kushiel's Chosen by Jacqueline Carey

Toribear 07-29-2008 01:53 PM

I'm currently trying to finish Invisible Man by Ralph Ellison before July, so I can start on Emily Brontė's Wuthering Heights right away.

...yes, summer homework.

Chobits 07-29-2008 04:55 PM

I haven't really read anything since The Gay Science by Friedrich Nietzsche @_@

I bought Gravity's Rainbow by Thomas Pynchon a while ago. I should probably pick that up sooner or later.

The Road, Im too lazy to find the author...

Reading it for school so i wasn't expecting much but it was amazing.

HIGHLY RECCOMENDED...

BatgirlZKE 07-29-2008 05:07 PM

^It's by Cormac McCarthy. He also wrote No Country for Old Men

I need to get both of those :)

KuroKoden 07-29-2008 05:09 PM

It's great, based in like a apolcolyptic type setting and its really moving.

Guiles 07-31-2008 01:02 AM

You guys should recommend books that left a mark on you too.. .-.

I just think books that leave a mark on me are worth mentioning. In this tech-heavy world with its informational overload to the senses, it's pretty amazing if something as old-fashioned as simple text can stay with you.
