100 titles, 100 ideas: Prompt table for Fiction Writers

Obviously based off of this: prompt table for fanfic100 challenge

I did change a lot of the sample titles though.

Also inspired by Kuda's 100 themes thread from MT.

Here's the difference; It's not limited to any specific fan fiction or whatnot. It can be whatever you want it to be.

The catch? It has to be written by a member of MMOG.

These stories can be non specific short fiction, Fan fiction from any Game you play or even from, well, anything. Wanna do Batman or Doctor Who Fan fiction? It's just as welcome as Trickster or LaTale.


Just PM me with the Link, but be sure to include the title where i can see it. Please add "100 titles" to the message title in the PM. The goal it so have at least one Story for each title.

Hmm, I'm wondering how many people in the forum are actually interested in writing...

Fandom lurkers and members of writing communities are probably familiar with the fanfic100 challenge. For those who are not, here's the basic idea:
- Writers are given a table filled with "prompts" or a random assortment of words (see sample below)
- Volunteers whip up a story (or fanfic) inspired by those words, any length/genre, 1 piece per prompt
- Writers share and enjoy reading each other's work, building mutual respect and enjoying the fics.

If people are interested, I hope we could do this activity sharing one prompt table. Interested people can pick numbers/prompts from the table below, and pledge to write something (short story, fanfic, poetry, essay, novel, etc) using that prompt. Each time people post their pieces, I'll link the submission into the table until all the prompts are used. Tada, MMOG Fiction Quilt!

- Original pieces or fanfiction (game/TV/movies/etc) will do. Game fanfics are encouraged, though, since we're a gaming community.
- Any genre (just keep it PG-13)
- Any length or format (just use common sense; 1 sentence is NOT a valid submission)
- Each person can choose a max of 5 prompts; first come first served
- 1 prompt = 1 piece, although you can get 5 prompts and use them to write a 5-chapter story
- Collaborations and co-writing are encouraged.~
- No grammar Nazis, but do bother to use Word's spellcheck.

In all honesty, it was your post in Veil's Fanfic about dragon eggs that inspired this idea.

Your rules on here are definitely less confusing and more clear cut than mine.

Actually I got that prompt chart as a sample from fanfic50 - Community Info

I wanted to see how interested people are first. If we have more people joining, then we can do the big-ass 100 table. If it's just a few, then I think it would be more possible for us to complete a smaller table with 25-50 prompts.

There's plenty of prompt charts out there... We can choose just about anything. I was thinking we could use a more generic set, though, since we're doing free-form. Your set looks good, but if we decide on a smaller list, then we'll have to pick from the list.~

I think 25 sounds pretty good. I don't know how many MMOG members are writers, but it'll at least let some of em know what we're doing.

I'll write something for sure as soon as we get the list made up. Just pick as many as you want from whatever words we have (or what you can think of) and I'll fill in any gaps we have left.
