Hmm, My cat was ran over by a car 3 days ago and it died. It was only 1 year old last week and his name was Mr. Peebs. He was a tabby cat and here is his picture.
Ok now for the incident.
After this girl ran him over, she got his information off of his tag (I guess he was most likely squashed considering the fact that she couldn't tell what kind of cat it is and she supposedly struggled to find his tag). She then called the animal clinic and explained that Mr. Peebs has died, which I am grateful for. If my cat didn't show up I would of been pretty worried..... Its easier knowing that he's dead rather then him just not showing up ever again.
The clinic calls my house and says "Mr.Peebs has been run-over this morning and is no longer with us".
The young girl supposedly buried my cat after she called the clinic.
Here's my questions.
1. Should I be more concerned that I was not given very much information regarding my cats death?
2. Was it smart of her to bury someone else's cat?
3. Could my cat of been stolen?
Tips: My cat was brought up on a farm. We bought him and he continued to be an outside cat. He has been going outside every day for his whole life. He always came back. He stayed away from roads. He caught a very large share of mice and a few birds. He stayed away from humans that were not his family. He has a micro-chip locater in his body.
My Theory (answering my own questions)
1. Since I can track my cat's location, I should call my vet and figure out where he is buried.
2. Since that cat had an owner, the owner's should of been notified before the clinic (because the owner's phone numbers are stated on the tags). Since it is my cat, it makes it my responsibility. Not the person who killed it.
3. Its quite possible and not that hard to do considering the person that hit my cat said no personal information. I guess the clinic stated that the young girl just reported that she hit my cat, it died, she buried it.
Mr. Peebs dieing wasn't at all a shock to me considering he does go out every day and night for long periods of time, but I still cant escape that possibility that he could of just been abducted.
