Male Teachers & Librarians

xD yeah i never did mention that. but yeh i never see male librarians at the public library or in my school library back in public school. at my university i saw a male library aid and it shocked me

As far as my experience go, female teachers are a lot more stricter than male teachers. And as far as talking about personal problems go, female teachers are much more reserved and distant in their advices, where male teachers will give you close advice like they were your drinking buddies. Maybe because guy teachers know more about guy's problems, while lady teachers know more about girl's problems.

I only had one female teacher who was really good. She was a professional in teaching, but always acted like you could sit with her during lunch hour, talk about anything, and not feel awkward. 90% of the male teachers I had were like that.

As far as librarians go, it was always the females I interacted with. The male ones are always in the far back of the counter or manning the computers~

I like male teachers more since most of my male teachers has been awesome or close to it. I've had.. Let's see.. I think I've had 3 female teachers that I've really liked including a kindergarden ''teacher''. I'm in collage now and so far I've had 7 male teachers and 3 female teachers, the male teachers are awesome and they are fun to talk to while the female ones have been a pain in the ass or simply don't know how to teach.

Short version: Male teachers > Female teachers.

This year at college i definitely prefer my female teachers, purely because the male ones seem to get away with not actually teaching us anything.
But in the past as well, a few of the male teachers we've had have always shown a preference to certain people in the class, and I don't see this with female teachers.

I prefer male teachers since female teachers always seem *****y to me, lol. All my male teachers this semester are really laid back (except one but he lets me sleep in class ;_; ).

My high school had a male librarian once but he was a temporary one. The main librarians [all females] were still there so I don't know why we had a temporary one.

I hate female teachers, mostly. Mostly because I have a slight tendency to dislike females in general and most of the female teachers I've had have been betchy.

I have a male professor who teaches well AND has a great personality. Plus, he's a Final Fantasy fan and has been a gamer since the 80's, I believe. He's awesome.

Therefore, I prefer male teachers over female teachers.

This. Especially my Psychology professor last semester. She was a real b*tch. I mean, she made a mistake, and blames ME for it. That's why I complained to the higher-ups, and she got corrected. Serves her right.

When it comes to things as teaching/counseling, I've always preferred females as they are generally more caring than males. Most females prefer to be caring, relationship oriented, sympathetic and say "poor baby." Males tend to give more independent advice like "you can get through this," or "Suck it up and move on, it's in the past," ect.. This is especially important in teachers because when some thing happens like getting sick, the females generally will let you make up/extra credit, while males are like "nope, it's on the syllabus, just don't get sick."

There are exceptions to every thing of course, though. :P

I currently have all male teachers. Sex doesn't matter, but on average my male teachers have been better. Both males & females can be good or bad teachers; everyone's personality is different. I wish there were more people that love teaching, rather than doing it just for the paycheque.

I think age is more important then gender when it comes to communicating? With teachers closer my age it's easier to talk to them like a friend, but with older teachers it's kinda difficult to think of them as friends, more like respected people, so it's not as easy to open up to them, unless you're asking them for wisdom/advice.

For some reason? I prefer being around female teachers since they act kind and motherly, but that's just me.

I've had more negative experience with female teachers than male teachers, even the... good-looking ones.

I don't really have a preference. As long as they are good company, I enjoy them regardless of gender. To do otherwise is gender prejudice.

When I think of my favourite teachers that actually taught me or got me interested into the subject, I think mostly of male teachers (eletronics teachers in my technical school; math, history and physics in high school), they were really great in knoledge and in teaching!
This is my experience
When I think of my female teachers, I remember them being really nice or really lame. I had a couple of great female teachers (biology and geography) but also a horrible freaked out art teacher and a crazy english teacher in highschool that would teach us wrong english.

Actually, I find myself a miracle knowing english very well today cause that teacher would tell us that the translation of "bonbon" in english was "goodgood" (good = bom in portuguese) LOL!
Oh, and another english teacher I had was lesbian and dated students, and gave them good grades, lol.

Overall, I had great teachers of both sexes, but the lamest were females; the worst from male ones were miserable-life-making or really strict, but definitelly not lame.
It doesn't mean I am not fond of them

Edit: male librarians are very common in public libraries where I live I think all males and females do a great job there~
