You'd be surprised at how most opponents are dumb =P. Seriously though, I think Akali is really... Underestimated most of the times. But... That's my PoV since Akali is one of my fav char =/ lol.

Also, even if you don't get the combo mark, you can always deny them from exp by shrouding their part of the minions, throwing mark and combo hitting it if they are stupid enuf to come close to you.

To explain:

Early-game/Laning is the time period from levels 1 -5. Most champions cannot afford to leave the lane/jungle during this time without being extremely behind. Champions strong at this point usually have powerful damage without needing an ultimate or very high sustainability (Ex. Urgot, Nidalee)

Mid-game/Ganking is from levels 6 - 15. Most champions will acquire powerful ultimates during this time and will seek to use them by ganking other lanes (Ex. Warwick, Annie, Amumu). Other champions will use this time to farm hardcore (Ex. Corki)

Late-game/Teamfights is simply from level 16-18 as the strongest level of ultimates come into play and most champions will finish item builds around this time. Many teams seek to gain map control and Baron during this time so many teamfights happen. Champions that are good at teamfights or scale well are strong here. (Ex. Amumu, Ashe)

Reasons characters such as Akali or Amumu are weak is the Early-game phase is simply because they do not have much presence until they have their ultimates and lose to other laners/junglers quite easily.

I am taking note of the feedback from everyone here, but I am mostly focused on finishing all the guides first before making edits.
