lmao, some of you think wizards CANNOT tank, but we can. In PVP, there is a set called the Epic Magic set.
The Epic Magic Set (let's call it the EMS) gives you 100 hp for every clothing item you wear, and it's only 1,500 points each item.

A lot of players already know that. Here's the problem that you aren't including right now.

PVP is full of high level players (level 180+). Let's say you're level 80. The outcome is obvious.

If you were doing 1v1 matches, that nets you 10 points per match just for getting a hit in (and losing).
Five (5) minutes per match.

You need 1,500 points per piece so... 1,500 / 10 = 150 matches x 5 min = 750 minutes / 60 = 12.5 hours just to obtain once piece.

No way in living hell is anyone going to spend that long just to get one lousy piece. This is considering that you don't have people willing to help farm with you. Most players don't have farming parties because friends sometimes don't want to do it. :x


Edit: It's blunt but it's the truth about how the PVP system works.

HOWEVER, there is a terrible problem with the Epic Magic set. Sure it gives you HP, but look again. Notice it's lacking something that armor has (I'll let you find it on your own). The thing it's missing is a stat that chops off raw damage - which is better than defense. Since the Epic Magic set lacks that, you WILL be taking more damage than the standard Sorcerer, but you'll have enough bulk to withstand it.

Also, the Xtatic set is better than the Epic Magic set. It adds stamina amongst other things, has the "stat that the Epic Magic set lacks", and it's set bonus is about the same as the Epic Magic set (if not slightly better).

Also, anything can become a tank these days. Even Haxslingers. All you need is the right gear~ And astro amount.

I'd rather use something other than PvP armor for PvE stuff. It's choosing whether to block a cannonball with a steel wall or add more gelatin.

That is by far the best/most colorful way of explaining it. Ever. I'd prefer steel gelatin if it were an option, though.

just pure speculation here, but an xtatic set is better for its accessibility. a +whatever pvp magic set for your level is better for survival and damage

physical defense is fine and all to have, it's only if you can actually make use of it by being a class that works around having reasonable amount of stamina

but since we're talking about mages and co. here, having the usual amount of phys def from w/e class armor set you get your hands on (since mages aren't naturally temps with over 9000 hp and stamina to begin with) doesn't stop you from getting cracked every so often. then again you can just stack stamina on a coli set if you're funded enough to do it, for the rest who can't, it'll take longer; but at least it's faster than getting an entire pvp set up to +3 and above. it's a lot more tedious to get and a lot more infuriating to enchant if you keep failing

otherwise the additional 500+ hp from each piece is not all that different from the lowered (what, around 300 less or something) damage from the usual xtatic/class armor set except you don't get cracked as often. could be different with a coli set though

Well....Wizards are as bad as ever in all MMORPGs. Here actually, u got gud choices of Sets (like the one u mentioned). However, I DON'T recommend to keep tanking as u will be just wasting ur HP. ;D
