1. Introduction

a.Why choose Wizard?

Out of the four class in LaTale, the Wizard is the most support capabilities, with an adequate ranged offense to back it up. It is also the only class that can attack from long-range with magic spells (this requires SP however). Lastly, while a Wizard is a great class, don't forget: so are the other classes.

b.Pros and cons of Wizards

Pros:

* Can attack with range
* They have long reach with spells
* They have high a SP amount
* Skills deal very great damage, some with very large area of effect
* After 2nd job they can specialize in staffs, orbs or guitars
* Can heal themselves and others
* Choice of elements allow you to be diverse

Cons:

* They have little to none physical attack capabilities
* Have only a modest HP amount
* Taking damage from your HP bar is dangerous without defensive gear to back it up
* Have some difficulties without parties early on
* Have forced to attack at close range, making battles against mobs dangerous

c.pros and cons of Sorcerers

Pros:

* Can attack with range
* They have long reach with spells
* They have high a SP amount
* Skills deal very great damage, some with very large area of effect
* After 2nd job they can specialize in staffs, orbs or guitars
* Can heal themselves and others
* Choice of elements allow you to be diverse

Cons:

* They have little to none physical attack capabilities
* Have only a modest HP amount
* Most attacks are direction
* Same skills as Wizard except effectiveness
* Taking damage from your HP bar is dangerous without support and/or potions
* Have forced to attack at close range, making battles against mobs dangerous
* Less support then Bards
* Cannot use Guitars (opinional)

c.pros and cons of Bards

Pros:

* Can attack with range
* They have good reach with spells
* They have good a SP amount
* Skills deal good damage, usually with "around the caster" effect
* They can specialize in guitars
* Can heal themselves and others
* Great for parties

Cons:

* They have little to none physical attack capabilities
* Have only a modest HP amount
* Taking damage from your HP bar is very dangerous, defensive gear to back it up is required.
* Have some difficulties parties, but isn't impossible
* Often forced to attack at close range, making battles against mobs dangerous
* Less offensive capabilities then a Sorcerer

3. Wizard (qs1)

a. How to be a Wizard

To be a Wizard you simply need to select the staff icon during character creation. Congratulations, you're now a Wizard! A staff is suggested for use, because they increase your magic accuracy (allowing for more spells to hit).

b. Available Weapons

Staff
Pro: The staff is a large piece of wood carrier with two hands, it gives the most magical accuracy boost.

Con: The cost of having a great attack power is your attack speed, while being strong magically you are weak physically. But you are a Wizards are you not?

Knives
Pro: A interesting weapon for Wizards, it gives them physical attack power allowing them to attack targets using melee. This works well with the fire element.

Con: The cost of having a decent melee is that your magic suffers. Don't expect huge melee damage or magical damage without the right gear.

Conclusion: Staffs are extremely recommended for Wizards, as it increases everything a Wizard stands for; Magic. Do not attempt a knife Wizards unless you know what you are doing. They are risky.

c. Stats

In the game LaTale, unlike other MMORPGs you do not have the ability to distribute stat points into things like STR (strength), LUK (luck) or etc. You do however have the ability to add these stats into weapons by enchanting them with special items, please refer to an enchantment guide for more information.

d. Stat builds

There are only one path that is recommended by me.

INT: Intelligence, the preferred stat of all Wizard classes. It increases all magical damage. N'uf said.

e. Skills

Skills for Warriors are located at:
LaTale:Wizard Skills - MyMMOGames.net Wiki

------------------------------

f. Skill Builds

(note: LaTale has a very loose skill system. While there are many ways in which you can require skills to obtain the same route; I have prepared a few that list in order what I and other feel as a priority. Any way you feel you want to go is your business, I only extend this to you if you desire it.)

Also, all words that are have teal starts like *this*, require 2 skill points for each level

Reasoning behind some builds: Since 2nd job change is at level 80, you do not have enough skill points to acquire every skill. So you must take sacrifices to attain in my views necessary skills *many of the passive ones*. You can go ahead and get every active attack skill if you wish, but you overall damage will be lower per skill use for all of them.

Ok update:

it's almost upto par with the warrior guide.
Skill builds need to be made.

This part requires some thought on my part, so please wait.
Also: mods, please stop deleted posts deemed "not guide related?" I'll handle that if I see it as a problem.

They don't, :X only accuracy.

Rtothef 08-13-2008 11:13 AM

O, ok then. Fixed.

Simple Copy/paste error.

I changed physical power to magical power without thinking.
And missed a warrior.

Nice guide, however reading through I found a couple of spelling mistakes:

The way of the Wizard: Fourms - Forums

Introduction (b. pros and cons of a Wizard) WIzard - Wizard

Wizard (qs1) How to be a Wizard: "Congratulations, your now a Wizard" - change to you're

Stat build section: recconmended - recommended

I left the mistakes in there so you can just ctrl+f and find them a lot easier.

Rtothef 08-14-2008 07:21 PM

But you missed "capabilites"

lol, thanks.

Rtothef 08-31-2008 04:18 PM

Staves better than daggers? I gotta disagree there. If anything, daggers seem safer, since you can wear a shield with them.

Plus there are unique daggers that boost magic (Privaring dagger), and thus the only real benefit from staves is accuracy, since the Strong Attack sucks, and the weak attack does as well.
